how coluld you leave Fritsch out.? Our only dangerous forward all night .

He was ok. Nice cameo in the 2nd half but soundly beaten in the 1st.

Trac went missing when the game was there to be won. Don't be sucked in by a few nice stats. He was horrible tonight.

Why has he got 2. Votes then???

Viney gets the chocolates for me..

But he still tries to do too much and misses handball ops which cost us goals, Someone else said first thought best to move ball  on and that is right.

6 May (absolute legend)

5 Howes (poise and class)

4 McVee (great gane)

3 Fritsch (3 goals but lots of errors)

Tomlinson ( sorry I nearly forgot him )

1 Windsor for showing some poise and class

It seems funny we can produce great defenders but cannot find the right mix in attack, maybe we need to recruit a forward coach that actually played on the forward line

PS I really struggled past McVee

You didn't give votes to a midfield that got smashed and couldn't hit a target inside 50??  This is not the Demomland way.

Viney, whilst good was also one of the culprits.

We've lost all semblance of team first footy and have gone backwards.

A goal behind he gets pinged early in the last for holding the ball refusing to give first option. We were terrible after that.

Good point except you can’t leave out a mid that had 30 and 2 goals.

I expect Viney to have received Brownlow votes last night. Probably the first of many.

6. Viney.

Fritsch kick some goals but he was woeful last night, just looking for the easy goal out the back.

Bowey was good before injured, Salem was good in the midfield

6 Viney

5 Salem

1 Bowey

Promising Windsor, Howes, Oliver

Disappointments Petracca, Sparrow, Lever, Schache, JVR

Credits to Howes and Windsor, who showed a lot more than some of their more experienced team mates.

Grundy - woops

6- Viney

5- May

4- Mcvee

3- Salem

2- tommo

1- Bowey

6 Viney - into it from word go

5 May - always in correct position

4 Tomlinson - one of his best games ever - Amartey and McLean quiet, except latter had hot period on Gawn in Thursday term

3 Salem - quick thinking all night

2 Fritter - gets this for the quality of his third term but he only had six posies.

1 Oliver - as with Trac, fumbly early but kept at it all night. Kicking let him down a fair bit.

Once Bowey went off  we were cooked

thought Billing’s was better than Laurie. But only in spurts.
thought Lever did not combine well with May,   But lots of problems.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
