Just on players who are not at training, what's the situation with Joel Smith? Is he still "provisionally suspended"? And what does that even mean?

Still probably waiting for a call from goody.

Is it just me or is Tracc looking a little flabby? Maybe he overindulged while overseas.

Yeah it is just you.

Joel Smith is awaiting instruction from the AFL for his hearing.

He is in contact with Gary Pert, Alan Richardson and Reece Conca. He has also spoken to Goody.

When training officially starts he is not allowed to commence training at the footy club on official duties.

Has to train away from the club full stop.

Training this Monday, is it at Goshes or snakey Casey?

I'm just reading on the AFL website that Collingwood will start their preseason at Gosches due to resurfacing works:

What the actual [censored]? Please don't tell me we're stepping aside to accommodate those [censored]. I don't give a toss that we have Casey to train at. They can [censored] off somewhere else.... preferably Bairnsdale

Gosch’s at 9am.

At this stage anyways.

What have you got against Bairnsdale? 😀

Ukraine would be better

Absolutely nothing! It was the first place that popped into my head that was an adequate distance from Melbourne. How about the sewage treatment plant at Werribee? A bit too close but it seems to fit the bill?

Training wouldn't be of a high standard out there.  Players would just be going through the motions.

When did sides 9 to 18 start their preseason?  Its been almost 3 months since R24.

If MFC start next Monday then within a few weeks they'll be packing up for another long Christmas/ NY break.

When they finally get around to training, how many days a week are they out on the track?  2 or 3?

I hope they find the time to get some goal kicking practice . We couldnt hit the side of a ship in 2023.

Why can’t they train at Victoria Park, it hosts AFLW games.

Collingwood will train away from Olympic Park across the first block of the pre-season due to resurfacing works, with the group set to start on Gosch's Paddock before spending most of the next month training at Victoria Park.

Wayne - if you could refrain from interrupting my tantrum, that would be appreciated. Any entry onto Gosch's cannot be considered anything other than an official turf war, however brief. We are, after all, talking about the Filth.

Thank you, I rest my case

Where was Clayton Oliver? Was he there?

Looks like Clarry has spent a lot of time in Ceduna with Kade Chandler

Kade is certainly an emerging leader.

Good fishing.

What's wrong with Werribee GODS COUNTRY! They finished second you know, better than Casey.

Fair point.  There's a little bit of all of us in Werribee.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
