Lol his disposals numbers and the amount of goals kicked at VFL level is identical to Josh Schache's year in his 2022 VFL season.

Having watched enough VFL of Brisbane this year and some of his previous AFL games it's no wonder Brisbane fans are happy to show pack his bags for him.

How about you put your personal gripes with Deespencer on hold for a while and stop using Tom as collateral damage in your petty feud.  We get you don’t like Tom as a player, for most of us you only need to say it once.

Welcome Tom, as a Demon you have our support (other than a few posters who don’t understand the concept of support) and best wishes and I wish you great success while you are with us.

I'll confess that I haven't seen much of Fullarton, but criticism of his selection is premature.

Grundy and Jackson combined for 21 goals in 39 games over the past 2 years as ruck/forwards for us. That's pathetic.

We know that Max is at his best when he spends a majority of his playing time in the ruck. If Fullarton can pinch hit in the ruck and contribute 15-20 goals as a forward, then it's a win for us. And I'm sure JVR's goal output will improve without the ruck duties.

I can't see anything negative with this trade. If it doesn't work, we are no worse off.

Jesus.. you're dead set the king of taking things out of context in this joint.

Reading that he’s a tall forward who was a basketball guard instantly reminds me of jack watts. Does anyone know what his range is like? Can he hit shots from beyond the arc?

Very happy with the addition. Fits the list profile well. Hope he grows into his niche and amasses a good career at the dees.

As an aside, if Tom does present well enough, does JVR go higher up the ground in ‘24 and beyond? I like him closer to goal and pack marking/splitting but maybe having that presence will improve our forward connection.

Welcome aboard Tom.  He’s got the profile that the Dees need as a forward with ability to pinch hit for 6-7 minutes in the ruck (Gawn relief).
Kind of a free hit for a pick we weren’t going to use, though  I thought Lions would like a future 3rd round to help with points for Levi Ashcroft next year.

Tom is 97kg, so about the same weight as LJ, hopefully TMac will get him onto some great steaks in the pre-season and get him up to 100kg’s.

I take it Tom is retired and running a Steak restaurant? I hope!

A very warm welcome, Tom Fullarton, to MFC ☺️

With summer just around the corner, I’m sure you’ll feel right at home here. I’m aware of your impressive basketball background, and I can’t wait to see you in action for the Dees on the footy field. As a talented young man, I have no doubt you have a bright future ahead of you!

Relative information:

Tom Fullarton   24yo, 2.00m tall, 92 kg. A shooting guard. He was the captain of the Australia 2016 under-17 basketball world cup squad.

Luke Jeckson   22yo, 2.00m tall, 100 kg. A center or a power forward. He was a member of the Australia 2018 under-17 basketball world cup squad.

Christian Petracca   27yo, 1.86m tall, 96 kg. A small forward(?). He was a member of the Australia 2012 under-17 basketball world cup squad.

So, when whoever  that guy is from Collingwood retires, BT will be able to find another to say every few minutes "and he has a basketball background"

TMcD and BBB can open an omnivore restaurant together - may need seperate kitchens though.

We shall soon find out d3165, however you would expect that an athlete who has played in a high performance environment would have a fair degree of grit, determination and will to win that other ingredient isn’t evenly shared around but hopefully he has some in him.!!

Schache Fullarton Tmac and Brown.

Looks like a pretty awesome and tall Casey fwd line in 2024.

Do you seriously consider all 4 would ever be on the park at the same time? there will always be one or two with mummy like strapping riding bikes on the boundary at training.

1A, 1F, 2Ls, 1M, 1N, 2Os, 1R, 2Ts and a U, but no C.

And even if he deed-polls 'James' into his apparently vacant middle name spot (see above), still none.

As a 2-metre midget, he played guard, I believe. That's a position needing a bit of the third letter?

p.s. Welcome, Tom!

I agree that we should pursue someone like Hayes or Lycett. I doubt that the club sees Fullarton as a successor to Max. hence the 2 year deal.

Maybe 2 and not 1 or 3 will let us asses his true value.
Would love it if dazzle and other naysayers had egg on their faces.
He is one of our now - support him.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
