Well prepare to be disappointed.

That, one away game with Essendon and an interstate game in the last round are MFC fixture locks every year. Personally I'm hoping for less night games yes good for club exposure etc but I hate attending them other than Anzac eve and finals.

I'd like a fixture that is level to the average AFL fixture for a change.

- Stop giving us Geelong trips

- Stop giving us 10 day breaks when we should get a proper bye

- No Thursday night games in Melbourne (wishful thinking)

Nothing surer than

1- we play Geelong once in Geelong

2- we play West Coast once in Perth

3- we play Essendon as the away team

4- we get to play an SA team during gather round

5- we get multiple 6 day breaks in a row

6- we get back to back interstate trips

Yes biggestred - Pies, Richmond, Essendon, Hawks, Blues, GCS, GWS, Swans & WCE to play at Geelong for the next 20 years, North to play at Alice (they need the cash). I want 15 games at the G, 2 at Marvel and 6 Interstate games for a change.!!!

Honestly i just think teams should alternate where they play, home and away.

That would be nice, like in the old days.!!

Dont forget ....

Norff in Tassie

No mid season bye ( usually about 9 days for us)   13-15 days for other clubs.

Lions at the Gabba

MFC surrender a home game to NT

I think ive covered everything

oh wait !

interstate game prior to Gather round.

Lots of travel early in season to unsettle our team.

I think thats it.

I’d be happy to have the entire fixture revealed at once. The floating fixture isn’t necessary post-Covid.

You have my vote. Booking the Alice game this year was a nightmare

Time to drop Alice...

Used to like it but no more

I live in fear of being GCS' bunny in Darwin.

Bulldogs lost to GCS this year and lost the following week in Melbourne

Bulldogs also got an SA team in Gather Round (and lost)

It really should be,  play each team once, alternate home and away each year. Especially once Tasmania come in. Will never happen but each game would attract more interest and be a fairer competition

This.

If they are happy to have a season go on a month longer than it should and have all these dead rubber games then show some guts and be prepared to have some of these crud games on a  Friday night.

Agree 1000%

Pies and Blues will get 18 Friday games between them.

a soft run into September

And seeing as we'll be scheduled to play there let's try and win in Mordor. we've dished up a lot of ordinary performances down there.

We've finished 6th so we are still in the top bracket for fixturing which means we will get 2 or 3 of the top 5 twice.

My expectations are Collingwood, Brisbane and Carlton twice from the top bracket, Geelong and Adelaide from the middle bracket and North or Gold coast twice.

We will get Geelong twice so they can send us down the highway and get a game at the G against them.

Port on the Thursday night of Gather round and potentially West Coast in the Alice to ensure we never get them at the G.

13 games at the G (3 aways being Richmond, Collingwood and Carlton), 1 at Marvel and 1 in Geelong for our 15 Vic games.

Wishful thinking that we wont get Geelong at their grotty little pub ground.

Just watch them favor the filth in next years draw.

Of course, but that would be fair and equitable, so no way will AFL have that.

You forgot our mandatory annual Geelong trip.

Things I’d like to see:

1. No trip to Geelong or, in the alternative, Collingwood, Carlton, Richmond or Hawthorn also going down there

2. A proper bye - no more Thursday night game after KB

3. More travel pre-bye than post-bye

4. A few more afternoon games

5. West Coast in Melbourne

6. Port Adelaide in Melbourne

I expect we may get some of these but not all.

I also expect to see a tonne of Collingwood and Carlton in prime time, and too many Thursday night games.

I don’t hate Thursday night games. Admittedly I have no children, and work for myself and set my own schedule, so I’m onboard if they play games on Wednesday mornings. I’ll still go.

Work is for suckers.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.

The Demons were sloppy all day and could not stop the run and carry of the fast moving Hawthorn as the Hawks cruised to an easy 36 point win. Is the season over yet?
