I sit in the MCC and got tickets today. I was hoping I’d miss out but it was my turn to get them for other friends. I’m sitting in the boondocks on level 4 and if some blues numpty gives me any unnecessary, abusive grief I’ll likely lose my [censored].

63 years for me....feeling the same..travelling from SA every 2-3 weeks...rather watch the football without the sound...sickening eh!

I think it's little wonder why so many of us are feeling so flat about Thursday. A loss is a loss, we've all seen plenty of them and plenty worse, but this incident, and the frankly pathetic follow up in the media and online since, has really just left a horrible bitter taste in our mouths.

On channel 10 sport tonight his brother Hamish said Angus was getting a brain scan tonight by the doctor that monitored him last time. 

He said Angus appeared much better than previous concussions and was up and about.

Poor Angus Brayshaw. His brother was interviewed on Channel 7 news today. His brother said Angus would be seeing the same brain specialist he saw 6 years ago. For a start, not making a largely unrealistic attempt at a smother by leaving the ground at speed and then turning your shoulder inside to knock someone in a completely vulnerable position into next week, causing the likely end of their AFL career and potential long term detrimental health issues? 

Amazing how we see players smothering the ball 100's of times week in week out yet only (to my memory) have we seen such a catastrophic outcome in this case alone. 

Huge line in the sand moment for the AFL, they've done the right thing by grading it appropriately.

Bracing for contact with a hip and shoulder is reflexive in the circumstances?

Maybe reflexive for someone putting their own health and well being over the victim over someone they are about to land on having run and jumped at them.

If it happens and Maynard's playing, he'll wish he wasn't. 

Maynard was there, in that position to catch/stop/[censored] the quick exiter from the middle, in this case Brayshaw. It was an executed lineup. We don't even need the rest of the hidden camera work. It would be available.

Like others have said, I'm absolutely done with footy besides our dees games. And if I was eloquent and brave enough I'd shout it all over social media and talk back to show people what the result of this type of thuggery is. It's kind of symbolic ain't it. The player wearing a helmet with a history of concussion taken out by a self confessed enforcer, and the ex players rushing in to defend him. Really turns you off the sport. Who'd want to be around such crassness?

If one player is lost for the other team, then it's only fair that the team with the player who commits the red cardable offence be down a player too.

I just acted on the impulse to post that image in reply to a bunch of the Filth's fluff stories on Twitter. Doesn't do anyone any good but maybe I'll get blocked by Collingwood on Twitter, which is something we can all aspire to.

Simply he chose to jump to spoil that's a no no in tackling

he made contact with the head whether unlucky or not it doesn't matter if it's unlucky he is responsible for his actions ie hitting in the head and concussing/ injuring a player.

Contact made was behind the play as instanced by the immediate free kick down field.

And the severity was high and injury severe which is now evidenced he is still in hospital. 

It was careless really reckless when you see it happen so you are responsible if you bump and whether accidental or not. That collision is not one of a football act it's one of a tackle gone patently wrong and the player has to pay. No ifs or butts,

As a fan of soccer I have been saying this for years. They use Red Cards in the Adelaide Football league to stop thug acts and seems to have had a positive effect.
