We've been linked to almost every player predicted to go in the top dozen or so, wonder when the real mail is coming

Players we’re linked to with our first two picks according to the above;

Dan Curtin (Key Defender/Midfielder)

Ryley Sanders (Midfielder)

Connor O’Sullivan (Key Defender)

Nate Caddy (Medium Forward/Midfielder)

James Leake (Medium Defender/Forward)

Reid, McKercher, Duursma, Watson and the Academy picks expected to be snapped up prior to our first pick.

Been a little while since I checked the ranking but Ethan Read appears to have been a bolter? Running ruckman with good ground coverage. Any chance he could be in play?

Gold Coast will match any bid that comes for him.

So going by this we would end up with Ryley Sanders and  Caleb Windsor.... I'd be pretty happy with that personally.

Really I will be happy with one of Sanders, Curtin or Watson at our pick.

Sounds as though if Hawthorn don’t take Watson then the Bulldogs will. It’s becoming increasingly likely that we will take whichever one of Curtin or Sanders is available at our pick.

Hawthorn: Watson or Curtin

Bulldogs: Watson or Sanders

Dees: Curtin or Sanders

Post in thread 'PMBangers 2023 Draft Thread' https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/pmbangers-2023-draft-thread.1348092/post-81752173

Pmbangers has his phantom draft up.

Surprised to see he has us taking Edwards with our second pick. He already has been tipped as a bolter this year but pick 11( 13 after academy) is much higher than I’ve seen him anywhere else.

I haven’t seen him at all but his rookie me central profile suggest he has a skill set we would be interested in.

Strengths- clean hands, kicking, running capacity and upside.

He's a Gold Coast academy draftee and was always expected to be drafted top 10. GC have 3 academy prospects (Walter, Read, Rogers) set to be taken I the first round. Read is not an option for us, though we'll likely bid on him if he available.

From the moment I first saw a clip of him I said that’s a first round pick based on the huge upside. And the type of player we like so was always going to get linked to us .

But it certainly would be a risk given his form only came late in the year with limited midfield exposure in a stacked team.

Id say his strengths are mostly that he’s a great size and athlete, with some ability to find and use the ball creatively in traffic.

Has to tidy up his handballing and his kicking certainly isn’t fluent.

You’re risking 50% chance he’s Paddy Dow for a 10% chance he’s Paddy Dangerfield.

Not sure we needed to trade up to 11 to get him either. Could’ve just used 14 if we were after him

Not sure about that, one of the reasons I said Paddy Dow in that example was due to the teams drafting between those picks.

1. Reid
2. Walter (Bid matched)
3. McKercher
4. Duursma (Has said he has a pretty good idea where he's going. North or Hawks. Thinking only Hawks if a deal for Reid gets done.)
5. Watson if not Sanders or Curtin
6. Sanders if not Watson (Dogs likely not going for a tall, as already stacked and have Croft coming)
7. Curtin if there if not Watson or Sanders. Curtin been told we will take him if still available.

Sounding about right? I'm probably missing something.

    CONSISTENCY by The Oracle

"I think we have got a team that can win a premiership, and if we get in this year, I don't think there is a team that is going to want to play us. This year is not a write-off, I don't concede that. Not at all." — Collingwood President Jeff Browne. I love this sort of optimism from the Magpie President after his club’s eleven goal defeat at the hands of the fast rising Hawks. It’s consistent with the fighting spirit of the club that won last year’s flag.  I only wish I could say the s

    FEARS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne’s worst fears about the absence of Max Gawn were realised when it received a shellacking from Fremantle’s ruckmen Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson who dominated the hit out tally in their game at Optus Stadium on Sunday by a massive 47 to 19. As a result, the 50-point deficit at the end of the game proved to be a loss that was long foreseen that was two years in the making and demonstrated a complete lack of hindsight and planning from the club. To add insult to injury, Jackson was a D

    RAIN CHECK by Whispering Jack

The Frankston Dolphins broke a run of six straight losses against their neighbours, the Casey Demons and kept their hopes for a long-awaited return to the VFL finals alive with a 27 point victory over at Kinetic Stadium. Casey was welcomed to the Peninsula by grey skies, heavy rain and angry seas with threatening white-capped waves whipped up by gale force winds. After a slow start in the opening term when they failed to take advantage of the breeze, it appeared that the Demons had decided
