Jake Melksham Injury

Shattered for Melk

Had to work his way back into the team, injuries meant he got an opportunity - and ran with it. True testament of his character and love for the club. He saved us in some really important games. Won't be forgetting the big kick win against the Lions - huge for that game and setting the season right again.

I've always enjoyed seeing him play. Super high footy IQ and an elite kick. Was looking forward to him getting the chance to take part in a premiership.

Footy is cruel sometimes. Wishing Melk a speedy recovery, and hopefully a plot twist of some more footy in the red and blue next year.

Along with everything said in this thread, all of which is true, Jake is a wonderful person. He’s humble and gentle-natured and always has time for a chat, makes you feel you’re more a friend than a fan. This is such a cruel blow. And it’s his birthday tomorrow… 😢

God that is hard to take,. These season ending injuries are so much more crushing when there is everything to play for. Only really just came to terms with Petty.

You need these characters in a quest like this. Yes we can win without them but you almost don't want to do it without them. Shattered.

our forward line has been cursed this year. Petty, Brown, Tmac, Fritsch and Melk. And yes agree re stil getting over Petty.

I think it's a testament to the coaches and the team how well we've done given the forward line problems. It's amazing to think that in the round 23 game against Hawthorn we had only two of the seven forwards who played in the 2021 Grand Final.

All of Jackson, McDonald, Brown, Spargo and Fritsch were missing for one reason or another. ANB and Kossie were the only two who remained.

So devastated, really love this guy he's gotta be top five most important players in the whole team coming into finals.  Shocking luck, and in a game that didn't really matter too, what a load of [censored].  Does not deserve this.  So sad and wishing him all the best for his birthday and a hopefully speedy recovery.  Shocking stuff, love the Milkshake, always been a fan he has really galvanized the whole team this year anything that happens we owe it to him just as much as anyone.

Yes that is a bit rude, both of them love the game.

All they care about is clicks. It's a part of the strategy of writing headlines to covert. More clicks = More revenue.

Leaving the second part vague means more people will click the article to find out who it is (where most Dees fans would already know).

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
