Bittersweet.

Thank goodness for Viney.

Good to see Kozzie and Chandler back in the goals.

Bad to see Lever and May play like that.

Without Viney we lose that game. Hope his limping in the last is nothing serious.

Really hard to explain how we gave up 28 scoring shots

We match up poorly on Adelaide and they are a high scoring side. What else do you want?

Adelaide were playing for their season, to say this was a disappointing win is absurd. We held off their surge and got it done.

Well those last five minutes were like a walking heart attack but thank god we won in the end.

The biggest positive of today's game was our small forwards. Pickett looked very threatening and it was great to see Chandler get his confidence back.

Agree but letting them kick 7:2 in that last quarter was abysmal

The second string midfield really struggled. Sparrow, Jordon, etc.

May a shocking second half.

Viney is top two best and fairest.

Good stuff Kozzie and Chandler.

Langdon played a good contested game.

Tomlinson some good things.

Defence was spread, mids beaten on rebound

Very much so, won't face many teams with that running level.

Joel smith the super sub, what an impact off the bench!!!

Loved Kossie’s game. Smith has done too much in the last 2 weeks to be substitute, but he’s a shoe in for sub if he doesn’t play.

That was one of Maysies worst games ever.

A lack of tackles from us was disappointing and combined with Crows inaccuracies....we were lucky to win.

do we need everyone’s kids in the song post game?

great for special occasions but otherwise i don’t get it

I wish we didn’t make it so hard for ourselves. My heart can’t cope

Yeahmay started that come back with a dumb kick still love him and it’s easy watching from the stands.  Good to hang on and Adelaide run Coll wood to a few points earlier in year.

So many dumb decisions made in the last.

Langdon bombing in the last minute, when you need to keep possession, wow.

Our disposal is still a real worry and the bombing into F 50 oh dear.

But, we won and still in top 4.

Viney just a bull. Gus was good and I thought Tommo was very steady.

Kozzie best game this year and with Kade kicked valuable goals.

I don't think the observation was as silly or obvious as that.

Onto next week won’t be watching that game again. Awful, absolutely lucky crows couldn’t kick straight, they mainly refused to go down the line and took the short kick which we seemed unwilling or unable to stop, while we seemed content to just bomb it fwd

What else do we have left to complain about if not small children singing the song with their dads? 🙄

YES.     Every side throws the kitchen sink at us and their next game is usually a poor one. Ours isnt. Dees are used to this.

Now i need a drink. jeeesus.

Norff on top of Aints. Really hope they win. Go dees.

Gus stepped up today. 16 contested possessions and 8 clearances to go with his 7 tackles. A couple of fantastic kicks going inside 50 as well.

Hurry back Oliver FFS

We will look a different team when Clarry is finally back. Trac and Viney are exhausted. Both should get a week off before finals.

Fortunately, we know how to win. In terms of collective effort, will and hunger, we are as good as anyone. But there are some serious holes in our play which have been constant for most of the year. (brainless handballing, appalling kicking especially inside F50, and unpressured turnovers) We can get away with them against the Crows, but not against Pies, Power and Lions.

Today against the Crows, 2 other issues arose which are of great concern.

First - Crows players ran from behind the play to take a handball, and ran through our midfield like a hot knife through butter. They did it unabated all day. We stuck a few great tackles at times, but their run and carry tore us apart. Secondly, our decision making around contested ball or coming through half back. Wow. I have no idea what has happened to Stephen May but he was putrid.

Great to see Kozzie and Chandler play really well.

Loved the hard work of BBB and JVR. Not huge stats but they worked bl**dy hard. Likewise Sparrow.

Max and Jack Viney - I salute you.

Idiots will say we weren’t good. They’ll also say Pies are going to win the flag because twice they beat Adelaide by under a goal.

Go Dees!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
