Game day....the only time one is inclined to speak to other passengers.

Nothing beats our great game hey!

Game day baby. Let’s go Dees. Looking forward to another win today (and also Bluey and Bingo pre game entertainment). Might need a couple of cold ones to keep me warm!

SN34

Still drizzling constantly. Slivers of blue sky in the distance.

Drizzle has stopped.

Breaks in clouds now, as blue peaks through.

Hope we go full bore for the whole match today it’s time to stop those periods where we go to sleep

We have a bad habit of only doing what we have to. Even more so when playing teams down the ladder.

Give me a win with no injuries.
I'm easily pleased at this time of year.

Adelaide aren’t a bad side though so I doubt we will get it all our way

Good interview with Yze just then on triple M.

1) confirmed Trac will play 80/20 forward.

2) Actually gave a bit of solid info about Clarry. They’re targeting the North game for his return. Trained well during the week.

3) Wants to put his name in the hat for the Richmond job.

Adelaide are a poor team who only win at home and start very slow when interstate.

Very big game today for two reasons

1. Ladder position

2. Improvement in forward line (especially BBB, Chandler and Melksham. The last named is very important as we go through the next 5 odd weeks without Fritsch) I would also like to see a solid four quarters from JVR

Adelaide will come hard at our defence through the corridor. Like many teams they play mainly a less skilled version of the Pies/Port gameplan. Our half back line is the key

Just bumped into Max at the G. He is pumped for a big one. F69E9A17-F266-492E-9359-8FA63A940B43.thumb.jpeg.6c4b45331ef33b97fdfa40b206642a26.jpeg

Searching for an omen, on the way to the ground I saw three ravens sitting on a fence. One looked at the others, shook its head and said, 'Nevermore.'

1) Great to hear - Trac is going beautifully in the forward line

2) Another bit of good news, hoping it comes to fruition and he can get back up to speed in time for finals

3) One more flag and he's a senior coach in waiting, but not until then IMO

At the Bermagui Beach Hotel for this one.  The screens are more AFL &  racing than NRL👏🏼 Hope they don't switch em over after the GWS game...

Looking forward to Rivers producing more and more of last week’s final quarter.

Chaplin on Rivers, scary.

I had a meeting with him yesterday and reviewed his tape and I was pretty honest with him, I said I think you're only at about 75-80 per cent capacity for what you're capable of.

80% is still a distinction

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
