If I see one more Melbourne supporter crying a river for West Coast I'm going to puke.

It's really no wonder we're perceived as such a weak club when a team whose supporters have ripped on us for decades is suddenly being cuddled and nurtured by our own supporters.

It's their once-in-every-three-decades slump at the bottom. They'll survive.

[censored] West Coast.

haven’t seen one even remotely sympathetic post re WC.

im more fascinated by there demise. and i can’t think of a team that deserves some time at the bottom more than they do

Thanks Essendon you pieces of garbage

Thats the spirit!  you tell em.

Amazing how much hatred there is on this forum for Essendon. LOL. Apart from the dirty 2000 GF ( we didnt fight back, too soft) they've humiliated us far less than Geelong and Hawthorn over the years.

We been very lucky with the role of the dice over the last month. Hopefully Crows win today though unlikely.

Collingwood get such a good ride from the AFL. They'll never play at the Cattery.

Dillon will send us back again next year.

What's the significance of 186? The biggest losing margin is still 190 point when we lost to Fitzroy at Waverley in 1979

I blame the Dees Team Manager for that record loss.

Heard about this bloke but never met him. Word on the street is that he is 'a colourful racing identity'.

The remaining fixture is now seriously compromisd by the Eagles pathetic output and a disgrace to the compretition. There's no fix to this. Hang you head - again - Gil.

Evidence: Eagles play 5 teams in the 8 and three teams seriously vying for the Eight( tiges , blues and Freo). And one Dud - Kangas.

Those missing out from now, Pies, Power and Us  greatly disadvantaged. Given our position as 4th on %, we have the biggest risk of failing to make Top four given ALL four teams from 5th to 8th currently have the Eagles jackpot coming their way %-wise.

I know I'm stating the bleeding obvious, but gee this should focus Goody and the team that we have a stacked deck, but possession is 9/10ths of the law so its in our hands at least.

In terms of %, to offset not playing WCE we will just have to make the most of beating:  North, Hawks, Blues and Giants.  Plenty of % to be gained there if we want it enough.

imv the top 2 and top 4 are set - just the respective orders to be decided.

Don't worry, Eagles will improve under a new coach. And with some premiership players coming back from injury, they should have less beltings.

The fixture is compromised regardless. Always has been in the AFL era, always will

Wouldnt be too sure of that LH I am genuinely concerned at our ability to win. Just thought Geelong would have set us up for a run of wins now not so sure

Only 4 teams got to play each other off a bye this year, todays Crows and Collingwood, and Saints and Swans a few weeks back.

The numbers are terrible for teams of the bye. No team has won playing a team who didn’t have the bye the week before.

The loses include:

Lions to Hawks
Dockers to Tigers
Geelong to Port
Suns to Carlton
Essendon to Dockers
Eagles to Swans Horror show
Us in Geelong

The only team not to play yet is the hawks who play the Suns today. If they lose literally every team off the bye has lost playing against a team that played.

It’s obviously not a coincidence.

Who?

FWIW I think we're better off with the filth winning today*. We've got no hope of finishing top 2, so it's better if the teams behind us lose to give us the best chance to finish top 4.

*Shocking admission I know.

On that theory get on Freo to beat the Dogs, Essendon to beat Port and Hawthorn to beat Carlton next week. All under dogs.

Agree 1000% with this. It’s a better result to have teams just below us losing and creating a gap for our top 4 hopes.

We might end up finishing 4th and play Collingwood (1st) which would totally offset the home ground advantage of finishing top 2.

I'm with you .  I expected a loss last week Vs Ctas,  but I am bullish about rest of the year.  It will be close but the North game should lock a good % buffer for us. Hopefully.

Just want the chance for a home final in Week 2.

A serious query. Have I missed something - has Simmo gone?   Or you think he will go?

Absolutely.  Go Pies today from my angle.  Hoping for a big win for them.  Fanncy barracking for Mason Cox- I should be ashamed.

Of course it isn't a coincidence.

And the pies get yet another leg up being the only contender who, coming off a bye, get to play another team coming off a bye (added bounus, Burgess is their fitness coach, so we know the crows have been smashed on the track in their bye period)

    TRAINING: Tuesday 28th May 2024

Veteran Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin returned to the training track to bring you the following observations from Gosch's Paddock this morning. Beautiful morning for training. The dew has dried, out from AAMI, quiet chatting. Maysie does his heart symbol. 7 in rehab, Turner, Hore, Sestan, BBB, Petty, Spargo and Schache. All in runners. Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
