Couldn’t boo someone who made a huge contribution to one of the greatest moments of my life.

Anyone who does should get some perspective.

Are you saying those who don’t appreciate the greatest moment of YOUR life need perspective?

No.

It was one of the great moments of my life - but I also had the privilege the see 50's finals and '64. I don't 'Boo!' any MFC player who moved on. Even now, I miss Frosty and a few others. Jackson is one of the 'others'. Nope, I cannot see myself being disloyal and not fully appreciating a family member - even though that person has moved out of home.

Good luck to those who wish to Boo.

You pay your money. Enjoy it how you will.

I won't be. I'm 48 have seen one premiership in my lifetime - 23 guys with a medal - Hes one them forever.

It's a short time those who make the grade get to play at the level - he got a choice of playing with is or returning home - he chose home. Good luck to him.

The people who choose to book him are probbaly the same poeple that booed Oskar Baker in r1.

I won't be booing unless he does osmehting to one of our players.

It's not like he has come out and bagged our club

After he left we got a pretty good replacemnt in Grundy. So it's worked out pretty well.

He also provided the best 10 minutes of entertainment in that GF and I will always be grateful for that.

Anyway I hope to hear no booing, then it means he hasn't got the footy.

You're right. I need to stop booing my ex-wife whenever I see her.

I will gladly join you in booing the umpires, they deserve to be held to account.

i see we’ve drawn Nichols this game, so I will definitely be booing.

Nichols. Oh god no.

I’d give a boo or two.

It’s all part of the theatre of it!

I don’t BOO former players and certainly not a member of the famous 2021 Premiership team 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 he was part of the bang bang bang chorus in the third quarter !!

I’ll probably give him some advice (🤣🤣

“enjoy the surf Luke “

“get a haircut Jacko”

”where’s your teeth Jacko”

Sure I'd give him a boo, but fondly with tears in my eyes...

This whole "Mum" shtick is really stale.

Is Ed Langdon a "Mummy's boy" because he elected to come home to Victoria?

Yep. He purchased and lives in the house opposite his Mum.

He's no longer a Demon so I will be booing him from my lounge up here in Qld. Whilst he was a part of our flag winning team in 21 he is now the enemy. He decided to go home and he has to expect some loud noise going his way. I just hope Gawn and Grundy show him he is still a way to go. Fingers crossed.

Roy and Sylvie Pearce are Mummy's Boys, because we're going to draft them in 2036 under the Mother Son rule

I know people might think I am being provocative with this.

But I am very curious to know?

Will Melbourne supporters be booing Luke Jackson on Saturday at the MCG?

Is it even appropriate to boo at all? We are supposed to be better than Collingwood and Essendon supporters and their vile antics.

I have heard some say no that they won't do that.

While I have also heard others say yes, that they will boo Luke Jackson.

I myself am currently undecided if I will boo Luke Jackson.

I am quite torn on the matter.

On the one side, Luke Jackson is a Premiership hero who helped turn momentum in our favour to help the Melbourne Demons end their 57 year Premiership drought. Something that ALL Melbourne supporters would be grateful of.

However, on the other side you could say he showed disloyalty by leaving the Melbourne Football Club because he wanted to go back Home to be closer to family in Perth. He also was not up front and honest with his decision about leaving the Melbourne Football Club until the end of the season. Forcing the Melbourne Demons to only deal with Fremantle as his preferred option.

I have even heard from some one-eyed and fanatical Melbourne supporters go as far as to call Luke Jackson a "traitor" for leaving us and going to the Fremantle Dockers.

I personally would not go that far! Luke Jackson contributed far more than Tom "money bags" Scully ever did who left the Demons for GWS around 10 years ago. I had no qualms with booing Tom Scully!

Anyway, I am genuinely interested in hearing fellow Melbourne supporters thoughts and opinions about whether or not they will be booing Luke Jackson on Saturday at the MCG?

I'll never quite understand the obsession some had/have with booing Tom Scully, or even being overly negative about him.

The bloke was 20 with suspect shoulders. Got offered $6 million over 6 years, over a decade ago. Would hate to think what that is worth now under the current salary cap. He would have been an [censored] to knock that back, given the circumstances and situation.

He was at our club when it was frankly unprofessional. Everyone has heard the China trip stories. He was obsessed with getting the most out of himself - non-drinker, immaculate trainer, etc - Melbourne wasn't the place for that, at that time, unfortunately.

Is it because he didn't tell anyone before he officially left that he was leaving? What was he meant to do? It was not acceptable to do that, and I'm not sure anyone ever did announce before the end of a season that they were going elsewhere the next season (unlike the NRL).

I was always indifferent to him when he left - he was just an opposition player to me. No reason to hate him though.

He was meant to create a precedent about stating his intentions before a season ended? Really? Something that never happened before?

Yes, I clearly don't get that!

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
