And yet we won !!

Gawn - There when needed

Petracca - Some important touches

Oliver - Tough but tagged

Rivers - Our best driver

Petty - Better down back

van Rooyen - Great aerial presence

Fritsch - Record is over

Bowie - Provided good run

Turner - Not quite ready

McVee - Clean and reliable

May - Improved with time

Lever - Some late relevance

Grundy - No real impact

Langdon - Can't get involved

Pickett - Hits when needed

Sparrow - Career best game

Viney - Lifted in last

Chandler - Smooth but ineffective

Harmes - Brought great energy

Brayshaw - Classic Brayshaw's Back

Jordon - He's just "there"

Hunter - In slow motion

Yeah I thought McVee had one of his better games.

Generally not a fan of Brayshaw and his NQR moments but he has lifted in the last 2 weeks and been important.

May floundered again.

so we only had about 5 good players, yet still won? It was a hard fierce game from both teams and fortunately we came out on top.

JJ - every possession effective

AFL stats says on for 65% of game with 17 possies at 88% efficiency.

I still say he was 100% effective.

Also now the 'most winningest' current player with >50 games, so he can't be all bad!

joeboy your 3 word player analysis is most anticipated up here in the far flung regions of the realm. A little like the old Sporting Globe at the local newsagents when you got home from the 'G on Saturday evening. Especially after a closely fought win.

May we urge you to continue the good work! So pleased you stuck a few little gems in to heighten interest and awareness.

Rivers - good and evil

Had to work very hard after that smothered kick resulted in a late Suns goal.

Brayshaw - spirit and conviction

Doesn't get better than that, a truly on the road to Damascus moment.

Would love to add this one...

Gawn - At Witts end

Oliver Gottas over line

Van Royen Back to Casey

Petty not a forward

BBB Come on down

Turner not quite there

I think i'll wait for a three-word game review by The Four Yorkshiremen.

Luxury!

Joeboy. Hard to please

MFC.   Got the Points

GCS.  Harder than some

640MD. Nervous all game

Hopelessly negative! I only read it to see how far you are from reality. This one takes the cake! Those that think BBB is a certainty may not have watched Casey. JVR may miss due to collision, not poor form! He makes contests and hits the pack hard.

Love your work

Max Gawn

My Best players

Clarry. Trac. JV. Sparrow Brayshaw

Did their job

Rivers. Bowey. Lever Grundy Pickett

played Satisfactory game

JJ  Mcvee  Hunter. Chin

Back to backline

Petty

Still very raw

JVR  Turner

Not fully fit?

May

More needed from

Langdon. ANB.

very disappointing night

Fritsch

Fair point. I think we had about  7 good players and 5 average performances by another 5. Gcs are a good side.  They way outmarked us and we looked exposed down back quite often. I really wish Petty could return there. I think our tackling pressure was very good and forced Gcs to make some poor choices at times. Its hard to say if we played poor or they played well. I hope its a little from each column. Both our back and fwd lines have been a work in progress this year and last night reflected this. I know I looked at Gcs form and expected a 7 goal win. I mean that's what a flag contender should do to a nascent club like gcs. But the competition is much tighter this season and we are a team that is still experimenting with their structure. I also think the fact that we have been to SA, WA and Qld twice out of our 8 games takes somewhat of a toll on the players.

Their Midfield in Rowell, Anderson & Swallow are definitely not the weakest in the AFL. Anderson is an absolute gun (A potential Tracc) , Rowell is another Viney . And Wiks is a genuinely good ruckman (and team man) !!!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
