Brodie Grundy just turned 29 so will be 34 at this stage of the 2028 season so would likely be a short term prospect.

A lot of water to go under the bridge before the Tassy team takes the field. Only god knows who’ll be available by then.

I honestly am not worried about the Melbourne players on that list.

I doubt Rivers or Kosi will want to move to Tassie (if anything they'll want to move back home), and Grundy will be 34. If they want a 34 year old ruck, they can have him and we will take a good compensation pick back.

The only way I see Kosi going to Tassie is if they throw an insane amount of money at him. Still, he doesn't strike me as someone motivated all that much by money, and I am sure no matter where he plays he will make a lot of money.

I actually see Ben Brown post retirement going there to coach. He is from Tassie, and is already involved in coaching at AFLW level. Same for Jack Reiwoldt, unless of course he is set on a media career post footy.

The comment made by Sicily a week or so back is 100% correct (the only issue was Tasmania is the clubs major sponsor) Tassie will struggle to get and hold players. Long term it will end up being a team mostly made up of Tasmanians.

Kossie is the main worry. The introduction of Tassie will certainly push his price up wherever he plays. I don't believe the chill of Tasmania will affect his decision, he'd move to Brisbane or GC if that were the case

The father son/daughter rule might sting us. Russell Robertson, David Neitz, Brad Green, Col Garland and Jeremy Howe all played 100 games for MFC and are from Tassie

Dangerfield was advocating for 1 contracted player from each club being able to break contract and head to Devil land.

......except from Geelong of course. Imagine the reaction if Cameron or Stengle was told to clean out their locker.

He was saying the onus was on the existing clubs to make sure the environment was one where players wanted to stay.

I don't think he understood that it would result in Tassie taking players off the bottom clubs, creating other problems for the competition.

They could get De Goey on a bumper contract that includes being an exhibit at Dark Mofo.

Neita only has girls FYI (so it will impact AFLW only) and Howe would also quality at Pies.

Does Garland even have kids?

I wonder if the F/S rule for Tassie will mean that the kids coming through will have a choice, rather than being 'forced' to only go to Tassie?

I can't imagine, if given the choice, that Robbo or Green's boys will pick Tassie, given both their families are in Melbourne and both their dads are heavily involved at the club.

Yes they can PF because the AFL is bankrolling the team.

The compilers of this wish list would be better off making a list of current players who come from Tassie. If all the radio talkback of the last week has any grounding in reality (yes, I know), such players would be champing at the bit to get back there.

No

The Tasmanian taxpayer is bankrolling this team.

Tassie didn't get a great deal compared to GWS and GCS

At least they were spared a licence fee of $4M approx that Adelaide and others paid
