Ralphy just said we should know in 20 mins

he reckons Buddy 1 week

Kozzi 2 weeks

That’s fair, you get more for a bad look that doesn’t cause damage, than actual damage.

The first point of contact with Smith is the shoulder and then Smith’s head whiplashes back, but without any damage, or even medical attention.

Looks to me like Smith picked up Kozzie (who was minding his own business and planking with Bowey) and is attempting to run away with and steal him.

Some good posts, even if I don’t take out my MFC beating heart and try and be subjective, and not argue equivalency, then clearly this still needs to be a learning moment for Pickett. Leaving the ground is something we’ve loved about him, remember the tackle from the recruiting video?, but he needs to adjust. Love the player but I do want players to be more careful of heads. If that costs a week to learn the lesson I can cope, I would prefer a large fine.

Am curious as why there wasn’t mandatory concussion check on Smith, there is a story there as well.

lol who bumps like that?!

gotta love Kozz

High impact? I'd be challenging that to reduce to a week.

Our case rests: Not guilty, Your Honour!

Kozzie got two weeks. Buddy got one. Just as expected.

Hang on. Kozzies was deemed high impact despite his opponent getting straight up, playing on, and not even requiring a concussion test.

But Buddy is medium impact when his opponent was taken from the field under concussion protocols and sat out.

Nice one AFL. [censored] me dead

Fair result. Hope he keeps his natural aggression but keeps low and grounded when he bumps and avoids the late ones too.

Fair result.  I'm relieved.

I like the early results so the media hysteria can't influence too much

Look I expected kozzie to get suspended but Franklin should have got 2. He elbowed collins in the head and the player was concussed.

We have to challenge the impact grading.

Buddy returns for our match

So no injury is worse than concussion!

No injury is high impact: concussion is medium impact   Unbelievable

Buddy > Kozzie.

I will be annoyed if we don't contest this on the grounds it wasn't high contact as it was a hit to the body.

Though knowing us we will just roll over as always.

100% agree. Absolute joke. Collins was concussed FFS!

It wasn’t high impact. The MRO works off a formula but if you just make things up to get an answer you think is about right, change the bl**dy formula then. Don’t take the outcome into account!

we would be insane to challenge this finding.  keeps it in the media for days and could (?) possible result in more weeks

Impact looked high to me. Imagine a barrel chested Kozzi flying full pace into your chest, low impact?  i dont think so

The criteria should not be if the bloke is big and tough enough to get up straight away it should how hard to bump was.

he was clearly hit in the head after the primary contact to the body.  see picture posted earlier

I’d leave it, but if we want to challenge it has to be the grading of high impact over medium (not high contact over body).

Smith got up straight away with no injury. That is “low”. The MRO has upgraded it two levels. He’s graded it more severely than Buddy, where his victim was concussed.

I fully support the Guidelines allowing the MRO to upgrade the severity to account for potential to harm but upgrading it two levels may not be fair.

Ultimately I’d cop the 2 weeks but this is where I’d challenge if I had to.

Possibly the worst fortnight of games to miss, unfortunately.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
