Whether it was anything substantial I don’t know as the game video stopped shortly afterwards. 

Great to see a strong win against good oppo. The Tap Brothers dominant. Our midfield and half back spread excellent and our speed of ball movement and execution frightening for this time of year. The only concerns for me were Brown (who should come out for Fritsch) and Harmes constant ability to turn the ball over after doing all the hard work to win it. Great to see McVee get the chance to take Dusty and Taj get a look in in the last  (and look up to the pace).

And of course the most important thing no injuries.

Could not have asked for much more from the hit out.

I loved it but I still think there are major things to improve. BBB is not a CHF and really, I don’t think there is a place for him - lovely human being that he is- given hoe Grawndy performed in the forward line. And I think we need to do a LOT of work on our leading patterns in the forward line - there were too many times when we got a great centre clearance tgat was crying out for a good forward lead but instead went nowhere. 
 

Bowey is wonderful. His place is surely cemented now.

Things I liked.

Junior Woey showed a bit.

May, best player in the comp.

Six goals between the ruckmen.

McVee looks a likely type.

Hunter's left foot.

ANB wracking up the kms.

Dislikes. Kicking at goal (Chandler, BBB, etc)

Petty letting Sampson get off the leash.

Harmes' disposal.

The AFL website will have it up under Videos by tomorrow.

We were very quick off the mark compared to what I've seen. Disposal generally an upside despite a few tired mistakes. Defence as solid as ever and new goal kicking options in the team. Hope we can keep this up throughout a whole season.

McVee, Laurie not quite ready imo but nice to see what they're made of. Taj could be a real x-factor based on that one quarter alone

Then I think Rivers took him for the rest.

I was surprised how strong our lineup was - Laurie and Woe were probably the only players that have little chance of playing round one. 

Fox would be happy as the would want at least one round of pre season games to tune up themselves - and have some decent footy as content.

They banged on about the first game being a sim, and had interns as commentators and very basic camera set ups.

But the second round, for all games looked a full dress rehearsal for fox, with more cameras, stats and their normal roster of callers. They also referred to it as a practice match not a sim

18.10 is good kicking at casey  - 3 rushed

the team looks relaxed focused fit with plenty of depth. bring on the season!!

Wasn't he great, especially from the start. Sent the message, this is "my court"

Needs to get body on him, or come in from the side with a fly at the ball. I think he didn't show him much respect, and was out timed and muscled.

Ball movement impressed me the most. Hit targets by foot and once again looked composed by hand in close, to get out of trouble like we did in 2021.

Backline formidable.

Ben brown is copping a bit and whilst stats wise he may not have had an incredible practice match, one view, for what it’s worth, is that he will take the best or second best tall defender every week….and like today that may just allow our other tall forwards (think Max, TMac, Grundy) to outplay the oppositions third or fourth best tall defender they have…..

We're primed and ready to go!

The teamwork was great and we ran hard all day.  2 wings (Langdon & Hunter) to be a driving force as well as the run out of half back (Salem, Rivers, Brayshaw)

The other teams are possibly going to be forced to play 2 ruckmen against us with 1 of them a probable liability as the match goes into the 2nd half.  2 x All Australian ruckmen versus what? 

There's a lot to like and it looks like we'll he playing 3 talls forward (rotating about within the forward line) And we looked quite mobile despite playing a tall forward line

We're going to be awfully difficult for the other teams to match-up on.  More of a nightmare for the opposition match committee's

And we looked very fit

The big change from last season for me was quick ball movement and ball use. Both were very much improved on last year. 

Did they do a 30 minute run and cool down after the match? Like last week.

Thought the coaches made the right field changes at the right time as a reaction to what was happening out there. Clarry down back, changing Mcvee, dragging Laurie for Woe, bringing Petty further up the field, putting ANB into the mid, basically keeping Brayshaw down back with a bit in the mid, Harmes as a stopper, Kysiah mainly forward, Spargo as a bit of everything. 

Tracc was dominant.

TMac needs to mark cleanly, too many like how the Weid did it. 

Did the wind make it difficult for set shot kicking? (Chandler, BBB)

Looked very smooooth pretty much all game. Five goals to none in the first quarter, break even the next two and then slightly upped the ante in the last.

Stand out was quick decisive entries into the forward line and the Grundy and Max combination up forward worked well.

Dare I say it, I reckon there is a good chance that JVR’s entry into the big time might be delayed.  In my opinion, all good, let him put on another year of building up his footy smarts.  He is still just a ‘kid’.

I was very impressed with Bowey and ANB today, really hungry for it and good decision making.

Hunters goal on the left deep in the pocket was masterful.

Sparrow was much better than last week, but Harmes still goes missing a fair chunk .

The ruck Combo will be a huge ask for opposition to quell, and I get the feeling it will give Maxy a new lease on life.

Even Woey looked pretty good when he came on in the last.

I’ve got my money on Trac for the Brownlow, early call I know , but he just looks like a primed beast

The proof will be in pudding eating on the following in about a month but; we looked like running a number of players through the middle and they looked like they knew structure and clearance tactic. I hope that is what we see against WB, BL and Syd because then it will mean mitigation of what we saw last year.

Are you for real Wod?

We only need one KPF or ruck  or other forward to drop form or get an injury to give him a chance. There is no sense in him playing all year at Casey. He needs the challenge of AFL this year for sure. Your thinking is even more negative than Goody's about giving young Casey players a go in the AFL. 

JVR deserves to have this season a go in the AFL as you said he is young. 

He can debut and see if he is up to it and learn along the way.
