Good luck to him.

Only way I can see him getting a game is if there is serious injury carnage to our tall defensive stocks.

The thing I like most about him is I think he can be developed in to pretty much every backline role aside from manning the tallest monster forwards or being the pure rebounding back flanker.

194cm tall, he's already running in the 2nd to top group so he has a strong endurance base and he seems to have some very good speed and agility. So there's a lot to work with physically. He's sharp in handball drills and solid without being spectacular or pretty in his kicking and seems prepared to lower his eyes.

It's hard to see him getting games as a genuine tall back in the short term with May, Petty, Lever, a healthy Tommo and Disco Turner.

But we didn't replace Hunt who played 20 games, we had Hibbo play 12 and Joel Smith played 7 and might be going forward if rumours are true.

There's every chance to be opportunities for a back pocket or even a hard running more defensive back flank ala Hunt the last 2 years. I expect both Turners to push to fill those games.

Kye Turner looks athletic enough and will put on muscle to become a good AFL body. From the highlights package, he doesn't appear to be a great kick at a higher level but that doesn't mean he can't improve. Lever and Petty are not naturally elite kickers and have improved.

You're under selling Petty here.

Barely ever wastes the footy.

I agree, Petty is a good, solid kick but he is not as natural, compact or fluent as players like Bowey, Salem, May, Tomlinson or Spargo. Petty is an excellent decision maker and typically takes a safe option, which is also very important to retaining possession.

Welcome aboard the Demon Express Kye Turner good athleticism, great height could be a handy half back flanker. We have really turned around our greatest weakness in lack of height in one Trade/ Draft period. We can focus on high end midfield talent next year. !!!

Why does it look like the footage is sped up when he speaks, but it's all in sync...? Weird, maybe it's just me

I'm missing something. 2 games at vfl level with very average stats that don't come close to Corey Ellison's, who didn't put a foot wrong at Casey. And Ellison went forward once at Werribee and kicked 5? in a half in a tough game.

But, I wish the young fellow well.

Yes not knocking Kye, but I am also surprised Corey didn’t get a gig somewhere.

Obviously an area of concern to clubs that we are unaware of.

What’s his jumper number?

47?

Not too fused with the surplus of tall defenders. He will develop at Casey for 2 whole years before we need to worry about list spots.

I think people expect too much from a rookie signing. We are giving this guy a year to see how he develops at the highest level.

Welcome Kye. 1cm too short for KPF according to collective demonland wisdom. But don’t let that worry you, sKye is the limit!

So we've now got a left and right Turner for our Lever. Ain't nothing getting through this well oiled Demon Machine

Who's the fitter Turner?

My dog's a fitter and turner.

If you upset him, he'll make a spring for your throat then make a bolt for the door.

He’s an Old Haileyburyian like a certain former No 1 draft pick who isn’t well thought of among many MFC fans. Perhaps, he can have a stellar career and atone for the other bloke’s sin of walking out after being lured by treasure from up north.

Kye Turns Heads to Become A Demon

He’s already better in my opinion and far more loyal, after only hours on the list.

so glad my cousin could come onboard too! lucky i put a word in with JT and lamby for him

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
