We all know that not all “he will be a gun” players succeed - Kye may offer yet another option, or as mentioned above, a surplus who we may offer for  trade.
Just wondering though, just because he is training with us at this stage, does it in any way tie him to us or us to him?

N o one seems to have answered your question but if so it must be deep in the thread.

Players are invited to train after registering with the AFL. There is no commitment on our part however it should be noted that as of right now we only have one Rookie place left and that means it would seem between Kye and young Burgoyne.

One could assume then that both players are aware of this and it will be a desperate effort by each  to fill that Rookie space. Good for Footy but great for the MFC

Anybody can pick him up but because he's training at Melbourne it will be more likely us. Considering we picked up so many talls Burgoyne has to be favorite to get the last spot.

Each to his own but Burgoyne has tried out before with Port Adelaide and not made the grade for various reasons. My choice is Kye Turner.

D/L provides all of us with a rare chance of learning information but also providing it.

However any one who seeks advice should have basic skills of reading the English language snd of eliciting a reply to a question.

Both David-Demon and Werribee completely overlooked basic information provided within the first 25 posts in this thread.

The fact of KT being a train on player was the key to the thread in the first 5/6 posts and the status of whether he is tied to us was covered initially by myself (albeit briefly) at the bottom of page 1, answering that question.

Yes we can sometimes all overlook things like this or similar events in our lives but in a forum it's not a great standard in snout 38 posts on a single subject. DD gave himself an out in his comments but that doesn't change the truth of the fact.

Or are we just quick reading over some less important threads such is our lives being so hectic these days?

PS I have been guilty before when replying of a similar slip up of not reading the post and ignoring the information. That's completely different to offering a varying or different opinion on a topic of course.

My only excuse is age ( over 70) by the way!!!

Happy Posting to all though!!

Right at the moment, it would have to be ADVANTAGE KYE TURNER on the basis that he’s fit and Trent Burgoyne isn’t, although there’s still plenty of time in the supplemental selection period for that to change.

Turner held his own yesterday and looked impressive at times with his marking. The thing is that there’s no shortage of tall back men at the club and it’s likely that if he gets the nod, it will be a while before he sees any AFL action.

Who does he look like? What key defender does he remind you of?

They might be strategic and go for Burgoyne in an effort to keep Kossie happy to stay because  his good mate is there.

And the club chasing him dumped his good mate.

I think we will go for the better player and without knowing anything, other than what I have read, I think Turner would get the nod if one of them is to be taken by us.

We are in a great position now, having ruck and key position depth, so that in next year's draft and trade period, we can target another goal kicking small forward as well as the best available talent.

Was it confirmed to be him in that marking contest pic? If so, what's the chances of him going forward? Could he be the next Robbo??? Can he play guitar?

Apparently he is very good at hosting kicking footies into buckets and sprinting along the boundary line at the G contests.

Appears as if the Ammo's B section Grand Final had more akin to World Championship Mud Wrestling than amateur Aussie rules. Old Haileybury's premiership triumph continues the club's rise through the ranks under Daniel Ward's tutelage. Stefan Martin hasn't pulled on the boots again post his AFL retirement but Jack Lonie (ex-saints) did. Young Kye Turner does get a number of mentions in dispatches. Watching this space with interest.

The "next full forward " who nearly out marked Maxy was MJ if you look. Kye  was out of position but Jeffer was spot on only at the back of the pack. That's  his skill and number whatever top wood/iron it is in golf ie. marking. Kyle seems very competent also but MJ may well be very very special and JVR relegate to CHF in the future plan if our forward line.

Is that a problem, there is a thing called depth.

There is a thought process that hopes these newly 'hatched' depth players - should they continue to shine and/or improve - are given opportunities to experience and blend into the senior AFL team across 2023. It may be only for minutes, from the bench, but it heightens every aspect of their talent and readiness, particularly whilst we have a few senior players nearing the sunset of footballing careers.

Wouldn’t see being on an AFL list, but playing for Casey, for a few years, as a problem, for a kid who probably never thought he would be at an AFL club.

I think WJ is more alluding to the situation of having too many developmental players in one position of the ground, especially given list spots are very limited these days. You don’t really want to put 2-3 years in to Kye Turner only to find out he’s still behind Disco and Adams, who are battling it out for a spot behind Petty, Lever and possibly still May.

On the other hand we took 4 very raw players in the drafts which indicates the club are pretty confident with our mature players. And Burgoyne isn’t exactly a ready to go option either. JT also indicated the best young talents don’t last long in midseason drafts.

This last list spot looms as a developmental option one way or the other. So it makes sense to not be too worried about positions. And key defenders are super valuable. If you can get one that you rate I don’t think you worry about having too many.
