There's your problem.

You don't know what's going on but go on to cast blame anyway.

Close this thread seriously.  We have another 3 threads talking about this matter incessantly.  He is out for 3-4 weeks, get over it.  Clearly was managed well.

I’m sure this has been raised but  since Burgess left for family reasons our injuries fitness have been questionable by Griffiths, call it bad luck but questions need to be asked by the club!
In 2022 we seemed to run out of puff after 1/2 time & Oliver’s injuries seems to have been managed poorly

The way that our Best  & most important player has been looked after & treated has been diabolical

First nicks his hamstring, then is seen running a day later

Then hospitalised for 5 days with a infected toe & releasing himself

Then the online trolling about drug taking, with the Coach taking waaay to long to back his player & shut down the rumours

Public arguments  with the fitness staff

Promises of playing every week since the Kings birthday & now talk about him missing a least another  month & now talking about his hamstring tendon

This feels like a very public soap opera unfolding  in front of our eyes

I feel so sorry for Clarry the way he’s been treated & how unprofessional the football club has been

Over 10 weeks out for gods sake

Settle down Billy, you are being a bit dramatic. Have you considered that Oliver's hamstring injury might be a tendonopathy rather than a muscle strain and that loading it up, as opposed to rest, is the rehab protocol. Sports rehab is an inexact science and our strength and conditioning team have done an excellent job in managing soft tissue injuries over the past few years. While it's frustrating that Oliver has been out for an extended period I think our medicos and strength and conditioning personnel deserve some credit.

We’ve actually done really well at rehabbing injured players this year. Let’s run around and say we haven’t because Oliver’s injury is a tricky one to get right.

On a positive note... has Clarry changed stylists?  Looks like he's had a bit of trim and starting to get into the swing with a bit of a fade!!??   Noice one Clazza!

Unfortunately with the Oliver news, it is what it is. Need to move forward now and continue to find ways to think our midfield.

I think the positive is that our midfield has actually held up better then I thought. We're still beating teams in contested possessions and centre clearences so not like our strength around the ball has dropped.

An other potential upside of Oliver being out is it creates an opportunity for JJ.

JJ' s best spot in my opinion is as a true mid, so Oliver's' injury could prove a blessing in disguise by giving him the chance to cement his spot in the team as a mid - and potentially change the trajectory of JJ's career (ie he might stay, not leave to get a permanent spot in the ones)

Absolutely 100% agree with this.It has been a debacle!

i don't understand the aggression of some people on here. It's entirely valid for people to have concern about how Oliver's injury has been handled.

You can all laugh at Kane Cornes but he’s right it has been a debacle, anyone who thinks it’s not have just got their head in the sand

Why if it is a complex rehab we have been told since Kings birthday that he’ll be playing every blo#dy week

This is when rumours start when a 1-2 week injury become 10 weeks

Apologises for being slightly of topic but I need help, ‘Social Media Speak’ has finally got the better of me !

What the hell does “I really for him” mean ?

Was it written by an imbecile, a typo perhaps, deliberate social media clickbait or just yet another example of the destruction of our vocabulary due to the Internet ?

If I am in fact the [censored] here, I await the response from the usual crowd, no names mentioned.

Nah, sorry that's complete rubbish.

How do I know that?

Well, i don't need some 'expert' with an agenda to protect the reputation of his profession.

I have all the experts I need right here on DL.

I mean, how could Bruckner hold a candle to people who can confidently say we have botched oliver's treatment with zero access to his private medical information or zero knowledge about what his injury is, or what the complications might have been.

Or limited or no medical training whatsoever for that matter.

You don't need years of study and training to understand the medical team have stuffed up. It's just common sense. That's all that is needed

If covid taught us anything it is that experts are dangerous.

That is a really salient point, that emotional posters either don't know, or choose to forget.

The injury list is THE biggest predictor of premiership success.

I also hope that all your follow up posts also take this into account... because all your previous certainly don't.

Not sure what ur point is? Mine is a bit of banter & a laugh… my point on taking a your chance is true, look at all the premiership teams they all have had a healthy list

Absolutely Binman. I am all for doing ones research and the best way to diagnose an injury is looking at photos and videos of the players at training. These so called experts with their fancy degrees, x-rays and rehab protocols. I'd much rather listen to the experts who spend large amounts of time in the toilet cubicle at work posting on Demonland.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
