Check our Top 10 B and F from ten years ago. Worse than West Coast I would think.

  Nathan Jones
  Colin Garland
  Dean Terlich
  Matt Jones
  Colin Sylvia
  Lynden Dunn
  James Frawley
  Jack Trengove
  Jeremy Howe
  Tom McDonald

I just threw up in my mouth.

Who’s Dean Terlich? Never heard of him lol.

Stoked for Hunty though, do miss him but glad he’s valued out West.

Dean Terlich was one of those players plucked from nowhere who had noticeable limitations, but gave his all every time he pulled on the jumper. Certainly didn't die wondering and gave it his best crack.

Congrats to Hunty and feel for him having to end up at WC but I reckon I could have come top 10 in the WC b&f

Prescient!

I’d love to claim credit for my top 5 B&F call for Hunty back in June, but as long as an Eagles player was upright and available week in week out, then he’d be a fair chance for top 5.

Where else was he gonna go? My point is he didn’t wanna leave us.

He had other options. West Coast gave him a three year deal I believe.

And you're right, He didn't want to leave.

There is a few players doing well that we've lost that wouldn't get a game with us, that are going well else-where.

Hunt, Bedford, McInerney, Weideman,....one or two others, that I can't think of.

It shows how deep our list has been in recent years.

Wow that’s seriously mean to Viney.

On ya Hunt! better to play for WC than Casey. if we had of kept him i couldn’t imagine he would have played more than 2-3 games. He just never showed the consistency.

He could very well reinvent himself though. WC have to improve and i’d love to see him develop further

It was a good move for Jayden in regards to more game time but nothing else.

Well done mate!

If I’m watching footy and it’s a non Demons game I barrack for the following players:

Jayden
Jesse Hogan
Toby Bedford

Those 3 always gave everything for us. Jayden’s story is well documented here, Jesse had far too much to deal with personally before he turned 23, and Toby had a frustrating few seasons of limited chances with us, and has been great this year.

I have a ‘mafia’ mentality with certain players. If you gave your all for the family then the only way out of the family is in a pine box.

It’s a bit of a stretch to describe Oscar McInerney as a player we lost; he was never Melbourne listed and he spent most of his time at Casey kicking around in the twos.

Add Oskar Baker to your list.

I disagree re inconsistency as he played 40 games in his last 2 years with us.

But I do agree re less games if he stayed - he would have lost games this year to McVee.

Remember when Langdon "Got what he deserved"?

Not that we need motivation but I hope that one is stuck on the bathroom exit door at least.

You’ll like the story about Howe in todays Age then Jaded. Him waffling on about how he wasn’t getting the best out of himself at Melbourne and needed a change.

He left us for better money at a bigger club. He left us when we were struggling - after we plucked him from obscurity and gave him every opportunity. He can dress it up however he wants, but we all know the truth.

Weideman?!?!?! We have very different interpretations of what doing well means.

Essendon forums havent exactly been complimentary when Weidemans name pops up. Liked him early on then fizzled out. Everyone knew it would happen. Next year make or break for him.

Hunt  Hogan and Bedford doing well but we've done better from the trades.

Thought this might be a reasonable place to acknowledge and congratulate Jayden Hunt on his 4th placing in the WC B&F.

Although the current state of the Eagles list somewhat tempers the achievement, I still think it's a good effort from Jayden to be a consistently good performer in a struggling side.

Jayden certainly gave the impression that he was a pretty solid citizen  at the MFC and I'm guessing his contribution to WC will likely go beyond his 4th B&F on feild placing.

Shows how far the MFC has come in the past 5 years, when we were the ones recycling excess tallent and experience from the lists of others, where we have now become an exporter of such tallent ourselves, with Hunt, Baker, Bedford, Jackson and to an extent Weiderman.

You could tell in those final games lasy year how much success he wanted with the dees. Was seriously desperate in trying to win the ball. Wish Jackson played with as much heart in the end. He looked like he was out the door.

He got games....which he wouldn't have with us.

He started ok, then went back to his usual poor form.

I ribbed my Bomber mates about them giving him John Coleman's number!!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
