So we respected the integrity of the sub rule last year but Geelong don’t.

Why word you? It's there to be rorted.

Life is too short to waste time hating other clubs and their supporters. Sadly, we just have to admit that the Cats are worthy premiers for 2022. But at least Melbourne still have more VFL/AFL premierships than Scott's mob.

Has been since its inception.

Warner sensational in a losing side. The rest of the Swans team embarrassingly bad.

The good news is, we will win next year.. take it to the bank!!

Hopefully Sydney can lose by less than 74 points.

Too late CB.

Honest question about where AFL football is at. Why can seemingly no players kick with their non preferred foot any more? Or are they advised not to because of some analysis of the likely outcome of using it?

So many times players are breaking in a certain direction and have to stop and double back to get on their preferred foot.

Why has this skill fallen away so much over the last 20 to 30 years? These guys are now full time footballers...

Sad way to hand the reign over

Fast track development means the talent is matched against equal talent at quite a young age.

In the old days a coach would tell a very good player that for a season  (say under 16) play using the non preferred only.

Just doesn't happen anymore

And just like that, geelong now become the hunted, everyone will dissect their game plan and will play their granny against them every week, they have the weight of expectation.

They might be able to handle it fine but I'm glad our boys can have somewhat of a break from the overwhelming expectation we had every week.

You could see the moment on the siren when Hawkins looked over and saw Gary Rohan, and he clearly thought to himself….

’I still reckon you’re an average bloke who can’t play finals, and shouldn’t have left his wife when she was pregnant with your child to shack up with our team Physio’.

It was a nice moment.

Yuk.

Spot on, we could not beat the lions or Swans and we see how well they did the following couple of weeks. We can commence 2022 without that swans disaster hanging round out necks.

What a damp squib

Swans won't be a factor next year. Not after this shellacking.  I'm not convinced by the pies or Lions

It's us v the cats in 2023. I'm looking forward to it already

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.

The Demons were sloppy all day and could not stop the run and carry of the fast moving Hawthorn as the Hawks cruised to an easy 36 point win. Is the season over yet?
