didn't "fake trade" give you a hint? 🤣

Lj's factor wasn't money other than his mother wanting him home and money just happened to be in the equation

Tom Browne is about as reliable as a wet paper bag in a sandwich shop… but I’ll take it!

Keep drinking: you'll feel better soon.

Sources close to the Pickett trade rumours insist they are completely untrue.”

so those close to the (made up) the rumours are now insisting they are completely untrue. Gold - start a rumour and a few days later insist it is untrue BS. Got to love the lead up to trade period.

Kane Cornes and Rucci started the rumour. Typical South Aussie rubbish by the sounds

I hope this puts the matter to rest.

Tom Browne contacts Kane - “Hey mate, any truth to the rumour”

Kane “what rumour. Kozzy. No mate, my own BS to create some clickbait”

clubs must just shake their head at trade time. Way too many people earning a living off the AFL teat.

Americans say "could care less"

Actually, SOME Americans say that.  Others, like several of my American friends, are dumbfounded that those that say it think it makes sense. But overall, I could care less, but not by much.

Speaking on RSN on Wednesday morning, Goodwin stated he is mystified about where the rumours of Pickett's potential departure first began.

"We can't understand where this story has come from," Goodwin began.

"'Kozzie' left his exit interview a few days ago and he can't speak more highly enough of Melbourne, his love of the footy club, his love for his teammates, and his joy to be in our program. I'm not sure where these rumours have started from, but he's going to be a Melbourne player for a long time."

Sign him long term. Already had back to back 40 goal seasons at such a young age. He's the most impactful part of our forward line due to his impact both offensively and defensively. He's part of our core for the next decade and would be a huge loss. Lock him in Dees!

Yep, and im sure we'd be interested in Max King or Harry McKay. Doesn't me there's any chance of them coming to us.

Agree. I’d be putting at least a 4-year deal in the table to avoid the future rumours and distractions.  He’s a star and Dees need to lock him in.
Kozzzzzzy - you are exciting to watch - we all love you !!! Go Dees !!!

Any news on this junk?

Well he is apparently good friends with Henry. Who was Clarry hugging in his Insta photo? Which club does he come from? Do they want anyone from us? There is room in Kozzies home now as one roommate is leaving. If your mate comes to your club, it’s another reason to stay with the club you love.

Would love Henry and Kossi roaming the floor inside 50.

Chocco and Kossi can help Henry on his defensive efforts and intensity over summer. That's his knock.

But those two could just light up the G and would bring enormous excitement to our forwardline, bring supporters through gates and kiddies would be jumping on the MFC train just to watch.

Would love for it to happen.

Yep, Kozzy, Henry, Fritsch, Naughton, JVR and Max, plus Spargo and/or ANB is dangerous on the ground and devastating in the air. 😉

Would love Henry in our team. Think this would be a good place for him to excel and get his game tuned in.

Henry has shown very little at AFL level, I don't understand any excitement around him

Agree, but he could be the catalyst for Kozzie signing on long term for us and that would be exciting. If Toby leaves he could be the replacement and that is exciting, but less so of course. He could add an extra  bit of pace and goal scoring to our game and that is somewhat exciting.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
