I would really like it to NOT be close. A win with minimal effort would be much better.

Agreed, it was 13 goals to 2 at half time 3 weeks ago, a similar score is desirable.

Daniher out means they will play fast corridor football instead of their slow high marking game.

What game style do we fail against most often?

They have to win the ball first and they’re not as skilled as other sides that have beaten us that way.

That's right! Or at least half of that will be acceptable!

I'm surprised and shocked on two counts.

1. Someone found Daniher attractive enough to do the deed

2. Daniher was accurate enough to "kick a goal."

Never a problem for AFL players no matter their looks.
But yeah, can’t dispute your 2nd point 😂

Hearing that we also might have a late out for Smith or Bedford either of which will play or supersub

Might want to send this through to the coaches at MFC, doubt they will catch on

Last week i was anxious as all heck, today i am very much "what will be will be". Would be a waste of a season to go out in straight sets, particularly starting 10-0.

It's all up to the boys now. I'll be there cheering them on tonight, and hopefully get to next week as well. 🤞

Agree. But that’s how the Dees mess with your head. Flat this week. Smash the Lions

have a week of getting your hopes up then Hawkins kicks 6 and we are crushed!

good times!

No matter what anyone says, there is huge pressure on us tonight.

We haven't had enough go wrong out of our control to mean that a straight sets exit after starting 10-0 and finishing 2nd is acceptable. It isn't.

I put very little weight in the margin of the two H&A games. Finals are different. We won't blow Brisbane apart (if we do, that says way more about them than us). We are better than them, we should find it easier to score against them than Sydney given their leaky defence, and we should have a point to prove and a burning desire to right the ship.

I don't mind if it's a slog, or if it's close, or if we're behind at points. I just want a win. I want a shot at Geelong in a prelim, where for the first time in a long time we'll be significant underdogs.

Things were certainly different last week. We just need to get the job done tonight, that is all. Not particularly fussed about the perfect performance. Win and go again.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
