I thought Laurie was suggested by some as being in line for promotion.

Wonder why he's out.

Hope young Woey can be right for the GF

Weideman as principal ruck going up against Brisbane's number 3 ruck

Edited by Diamond_Jim

Woey presumably still feeling the effects of the concussion caused by the thuggish  Ladhams.

Some have suggested that we look at drafting Jack Bell as a backup ruck for the Demons, but he's only named as an emergency for this game which suggests he may not be rated that highly.

Those suggesting drafting Bell are either totally clueless or have never seen him play.

Re Bell, I have seen him play quite a bit so I must fit into the clueless group. I think he has shown steady improvement...if the improvement continues, which I expect, he may well have merit.

BURY MY HEART AT CASEY?

Post-apocalypse and the vampire banana-benders are still after blood. Question is will the few survivors rally?  And send the horde of speculators, carpet baggers,  condominium sales staff, eye-gougers and Zorko-ites back across the border to Christopher Skase Land?

Round 1 ... be there!

Can't see any upside in playing TMac today. Smith maybe.. simply to get some more forward time into him

Help winning Casey a premiership maybe? I’d call that upside.

VFL premierships are irrelevant. It's a training group.

We have played in many of them over the years including the old Reserves comp but they don't contribute where it counts.

Lions and the likes of Matho and Robbo have everything to play for today. A spot in the Prelim next week whereas our listed AFL players are probably playing for a spot on next years list. Its a shame some of the better performing Casey players did not get games in the ones during the year. Seems they can't get into the ones and the players in the one's who can't get a kick and when they do turn it over can't get into the Casey team. Work it out.

Why does the Casey fwd line look better than the firsts?

😩😭

He won't cut at AFL level. He could be a poor man's Chris Woodman.

He tries hard & maybe has shown steady improvement but he can't mark, kick or handball which may hamper his development somewhat.

Looks like the VFL has been bumped from the TV today. Channel 7 going with the passing of the Queen coverage l, because heaven knows there hasn't been enough of that over the last 24 hours....

It's on 7mate.

PASSING OF QUEEN COVERAGE HAS BEEN GOING ALL DAY AND NIGHT ON ch & SINCE IT WAS ANNOUNCED

MUST BE A LOT OF EYEBALLS TO SELL STUFFF TO

Sorry if it’s already been talked about, but it’s just Bowey and McDonald who won’t be able to play next week if we win right? But we could play Melksham as he’s played over 7 games?

Thanks for that. Couldn't see it in the guide.

He’s mostly dropped because 4 talls just won’t work in the forward line so Weid has to ruck to open the forward line up.

I think there’s probably better state league options but the way he was developing suggests to me he’ll be a good VFL ruck in a year or 2. The difference between good VFL rucks and half the back up rucks on afl lists is just good luck so it wouldn’t shock me

That's my understanding.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
