They're also now offering walk ups in the AFL members Reserve meaning:

1) AFL members can get free entry if they're happy sit on the top level.

2) They're expecting a rather small turnout in the AFL members. I saw a level 2 seat for sale last night which is unthinkable for a final.

They always put up  bay on level 2 two days before the game.

Its usually N24 for unused dining allocation.

The fact that level 1 sold out surprised me.

I have 2 tickets for sale for friday nights semi Dees vs Lions on level 1 M52 seat U12&13 adult cat 1 normally $93 each sell for $50 each

I have a GFG. If I have to go in a ballot, I will be asking for my money back. It’s not really  a guarantee if you have to enter a ballot.

Club has sent out info. Next Thursday 15th is Registration day if we win this week.

PRIORITY ONE – GUARANTEED*

Membership Types - Reserved Seat/Reserved Bay Members, Grand Final Guarantee Add On Members and Foundation Heroes. Registration Time - 8am – 12pm on allocated day.
* Any Priority 1 Member who do not register in the designated time frame or instead elect to register within the Priority Two or Priority Three time frame will have waived their right to a guaranteed ticket. It does not matter what time you register during the designated timeframe as all registrations will be randomised to determine the order in which tickets will be allocated.

So it basically sounds like, thanks for paying a million dollar for priority 1 for the last 90 years while we sucked.  You WILL get a ticket if you register, but that ticket could be standing room only in left toilet cubical. May the odds be with you.

Melbourne supporters are so weird.

Can't wait for the new generation to come through and it's less oldies from south-side of the river who prefer to watch on their 80 inch LG C1's from home to avoid a few raindrops.

Why do our supporters pick and choose so often?

It's a [censored] semi final!

I thought missing the entire finals series last year would motivate at least 45,000 of our 65,000 odd members (not including MCC members) to get to and cherish the idea of attending a final in person.

Guess I was wrong and people prefer to stay at home and listen to BT's mistake riddled commentary where he's been known to call players that aren't even playing. Or JB marvelling about two traditional Melbourne sides in Geelong and Collingwood doing battle last week.

Get to the game peoples!

Yep and you can't pick your seat.

so that's $435 plus the $210 GFG already paid

and this year the GFG was mandatory for ANY reserved seat ticket

edit: oh, nearly forgot the extra $7

You'd think $435 would buy you much better entertainment than Mike Brady & G-Flip (whoever that is). Where has the saving on fireworks been allocated?

Jokes aside, would love an 80 inch C1.

Don't forget the $5 non-refundable fee at time of registration to cover administration fees. You use to get the $5 back. So four teams lets say 100,000 members try for GF tickets that $500,000 for doing what.

For having a really bad website.

God, the AFL for its marketing and $ spent on entertainment, pay big bucks for Robbie Williams. Some folks might like him but he is seriously old school even for a bloke like me. Seriously underwhelming and middle of the road. We have so much home grown talent that would be preferable.

anyone know how many of our members fit these categories? just doing the math on chances for priority 2

I very nearly gave up my AFL membership the last two years. As a Gold tier member i am effectively guaranteed a ticket to the GF if Melbourne makes it... I think I'll hold onto the membership for a few more years at least :p

Post 2018 MFC as I understand it sold its entire quota of GFG tickets and like many teams now has a waiting list for GFG.

Not sure if this changed during covid.

If that's true not much hope for priority 2 is my guess. IIRC in 2018 it was around 50% chance but at that time the number of GFG memberships we had sold were a lot less

weather forecast tomorrow is 'partly sunny' with no rain forecast

still reckon if we pull more than 55k it will be an excellent result

Not sure where you get your forecast from. Bureau of Meteorology has it down as:

Partly cloudy. High (70%) chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening. Winds northerly 20 to 30 km/h decreasing to 15 to 20 km/h in the late afternoon then becoming light in the late evening.

Stuff up - sorry

Just my final thoughts on what crowd will be tomorrow.

34K on level 1, 8k on level 2, 3k on level 2a and 10k on level 4

55k is what that gets me which i still think may be overs but am hoping we get a little more

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
