At the break of Gawn 4,515 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 10 Max Gawn (MELB) 8 Jordan De Goey (COLL) 5 Jamie Elliott (COLL) 3 Christian Petracca (MELB) 2 Christian Salem (MELB) 1 Nick Daicos (COLL) 1 Brayden Maynard (COLL) Thats bizarre that Oliver couldn’t poll a single vote. 2 1 Quote
Swooper1987 3,322 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 No surprise at all given that Oliver was supposed to be on De Goey for much of the night. Gawn was outstanding and I'm pleased both coaches acknowledged it if some here couldn't. 4 Quote

I didn’t realise he was supposed to be on De Goey so that explains a fair bit. 2 Quote
Wells 11 5,503 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Strange night for Max. I had him BOG also, but his kicking for goal cost us the game. 9 Quote
poita 3,945 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 How many of Oliver's possessions benefited the team? He is without doubt a wonderful player, but most of his disposals on Friday were pretty ordinary. In particular, his reluctance to kick started a number of pointless chains of handpasses that ultimately resulted in us losing possession. 4 Quote
Gawndy the Great 9,011 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Whats a bet Oliver will get 3 brownlow votes 😀 1 1 Quote
At the break of Gawn 4,515 Posted August 8, 2022 Author Posted August 8, 2022 I’ll also add that I’m annoyed Elliott got votes. 2 of his goals came from incorrect HTB decisions. It was only the Hibberd one which was clear. Jordan and Viney had basically no prior. 8 Quote
deelusions from afar 1,894 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 I think this is great - if we play Collingwood in finals he will take responsibility for De Goey (unless Harmes does) and will get it done. Just like he did with Bont in the granny last year. 1 Quote

Totally agree Was a flip back to the old Clarry wasting the ball and mucking around almost lairrising in fact! 2 Quote
Billy 2,576 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Give us a spell, 42 & 24 contested doesn’t deserve any votes & DeGoey got 8!!!! Geez you posters jump off quickly Seriously 3 1 Quote
DeeZone 10,596 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 I had Max, Tracc & Clayton ahead of DeGoey but he did look pretty flash when he cleared a number of centre clearance’s and ran out unopposed, mind you his kicking was poor on occasions.!!!! Clayton put his body on the line and had no problem winning the ball but didn’t get a lot of run away from stoppages and the ball get turned over in meaningless handball chains.😢😪. Quote

I didnt see it that way at all, Greg Baum of the AGE a thoroughly astute footy scribe gave Clarry 8 Votes BOG. 42 POSESSIONS Cmon give ne a break. ELLIOT SALEM, LUCKY. IMO Clarry is still a better player than Tracc Edited August 8, 2022 by picket fence 2 Quote
Bates Mate 4,520 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 I Definately didn't have Salem in the top 5 players on the ground 2 Quote
Earl Hood 6,167 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 That Johnson kid was stiff, those 4 goals all had high degrees of difficulty and kept them in it. 4 Quote

Absolutely he did, and you can never question his effort or will to win. But we felt on the night he wasn't hurting the oppositon. Lots of big kicks without specfic targetting, as opposed to many Pies inbound kicks to targets. Elliot beat us last time, and did it again on Friday. 1 Quote

That’s a really poor post, the guy worked his backside off & was probably the only player that had a great second half, l saw no larrising at all As for Gawn getting 10 votes, missed 3 easy goals and as much as he was good he cost us the 4 points Edited August 8, 2022 by Billy 1 Quote
John Crow Batty 8,893 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 I guess Goodwin didn’t give Oliver votes because he knows a lot of his touches were wasted. 1 Quote

Adam The God 30,752 Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 (edited) Sorry, anyone that gets 14 clearances surely deserves at least 1 coaches vote, but clearly neither coach rated his game. Edited August 8, 2022 by A F 1 Quote

Its why I think Ed is on the money - we just need a stopper on a few - we surely know the issue by now with the Pies. A great news Grundy is out for the year. It means we have Mason Cox in for the finals, a boon to any Pies Oppo. 1 Quote
bing181 9,474 Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Good to see Salem amongst the votes. Still not back to his regular best, but was his best game since returning from injury. 1 Quote
