Very few don't only a very select few go in their own time. The great KS was told  his contract would not be renewed. Clarkson was cut one year short of his contract. Malthouse was pushed out twice. So are you saying that if someone is sacked they are no good?

Just pointing out that even "senior coaches" have a used by date.

Have a great day mate.

Hopefully if Yze goes to Essendon & takes Choco  with him the rest of the wheels won’t completely fall off like they started to with Burgo

That Norm Smith bloke was pretty average.

What? And have 'Land close down?

More disturbing than that picture is dude’s tenuous grasp on grammar. He’s 2 for 2 with misspelling names. He’s got the whole their/they’re/there thing up the [censored]. He’s left a word out (‘is’) and he’s used a comma instead of a period as well as another comma that shouldn’t be there.

Has anyone else had enough of this garbage?

Not until the full situation is uncovered, however uncomfortable it may be for you

Have to wonder what missing out on Essendon job will do for ooze. That's three that he has interviewed for and subsequently missed out on all. Happy to keep him though BTW

I wouldn't mind Yze moving to forward coach and strategy, shift Stafford to ruck coach and bring in a new midfield coach. But what would I know?

Too much logic in that.

It takes numbers to win a flag!

Scott has put his hat in the ring.  If some reports are to be believed it is his for the taking.

According to the Age one of the other applicants Lade has moved to the Bulldogs.  brad-scott-shows-interest-in-bombers-coaching-job

Looks like Yze and Scott are the only ones left standing.

Never trust someone who says they love their job or have people say it for them.

Whilst I’d be glad to have Ooze at the Dees next year, it must be incredibly frustrating to be scuppered by the AFL Boys’ Club.

Worst case scenario for us is:

Yze misses the Bombers job.

A few months are needed for the Hawks racism investigation and the Kangas end up sacking Clarko early next year.

Then Yze gets that job as the best available option.. leaving us without a senior assistant right before the season starts.

Ladbrokes was running a market on the Dons job yesterday. Yze was $1.50 and Hird and Scott were both at $5.50. Market was taken down at about 10 am yesterday about the same time as the Scott rumour broke.

Ideally I would like to keep Adem Yze at Melbourne. But he will get a senior AFL coaching job at another club eventually and we need to accept that.

As long as we get good quality assistant coaches to replace Adem Yze then I won't be too worried.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
