Can't remember if there's a thread about the importance of Frittata, but he ought to be the most influential offensive player in our list at the moment. Besides his goal kicking, he must have a lot of score involvements.

Should be AA this year IMO.

Does this mean you're suggesting we abandon the 'selfish" tag? I, for one, am with you, but you better move carefully round these here parts. Or carry a large umbrella.

I don't mind waking in the rain...😆

Couldn’t agree more El14 where would we be without Frittata he is so reliable tough and is developing a real sense of worth and the importance of celebrating his and teammates goals and efforts. Would have to be the coaches pet. Absolutely love our Champion No. 31.❤️💙

A legend, and definitely under-rated.

looking forward to the “is Fritsch too un-selfish” thread

Bailey sees a gap and he goes for it

his First goal last night was a perfect example.
He has explosive pace off the mark which can put him in the clear.

He is feline related….

Thought this was one of his best games for the year last night. Right up there

Quick, cat like, a great freakish mark, and has become a very reliable kick. Super player, classy, and is so good to watch.

Only Trac came between Fritsch and a Norm Smith medal. Gun!!!

You mean we shouldn’t drop him for being selfish, despite being the only forward in our team who actually kicks goals consistently? I’m shook.

He’s coming into some very fine form. Filth will try and stop him, we could use him as a bit of a decoy next week.

Why Not.  After all he's sporting the same haircut as the last great Dees Decoy Full Forward.

Norm Smith

Talking of decoy forwards, my father used to say that Alan Rowarth did that job superbly for Big Bob Johnson many years ago. Big Bob was a star for Melbourne and Oakleigh. An enormous character, he deserves a thread of his own

I think we can walk and chew gum at the same time.

There have been a few times Fritta has burnt teammates. It wasn’t a good look for sure. But as Tracc explained in his post match interview, his specific job is to kick goals. If Spargo or Melk were doing that, I’d be filthy as that isn’t their role in the team.

I remember someone on here said a few weeks ago Fritta was having a bad season (it may have been in a three word assessment by Joeboy but if it wasn’t, my apologies). I scoffed when I saw it. The only difference this year is that Fritta hasn’t kicked a bag like he did against North, the Dogs or the Crows. If anything, he’s become more consistent in his goals per match average.

Has clicked over 100 goals in ‘21 and this year combined.
Very intelligent player and brave too

0031, License to score.

He's awesome, always keeps his feet in contests. He can burst away and is also very good below the knees.

One of the best versatile forwards who can both play small and tall, and of course his goal kicking is elite.

I wonder if the media perception of him being selfish will hinder his AA selection.
Reckon there was a good argument for his inclusion last year.

You could make a decent case for AA but there are probably a few ahead of him at this point. Curnow, Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron are locked in you'd think. Rightly or wrongly, the selectors like to throw goalkicking mids on the flanks, so those spots will probably go to Petracca and one of Bontempelli, Rozee or Cripps.

Fritsch probably competing with Heeney and Charlie Cameron for the other spot. As good as Fritsch has been, Heeney has probably been better tbh.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
