I know using the AFL Ladder predictor is often a waste of time, but check out what the Ladder most likely will look like at 3:15 on Sunday before we play.

Well this is a tough one.

For the optimists you want Carlton and the Swans to win.

For the others it's the reverse.

It's going to be a nerve wracking weekend

PS wins by Adelaide and the Giants would be nice but unlikely

Likely to be atleast one boil over...

North over Essendon or Crows over lucky Pies.

Collingwoods luck has to run out soon.

I went the predictable route this round for tipping:

Bulldogs

Pies

Brisbane

Richmond

Geelong

Freo

Hawks

Melbourne

Gold Coast.

Of course I want Adelaide and Sydney to win, but I also want to win the tipping at work - I'm only one tip off the leader and coming equal second at the moment!!  Last year I won it, so the pressure is on!

Honestly who the hell is doing the draw at the AFL? The 2 most interesting games for the weekend (1st vs 5th, and 3rd vs 7th) have been brilliantly scheduled to play AT THE SAME TIME on Saturday night.

Meanwhile it’s the 10th placed, very mediocre, Bulldogs getting another Friday night game. It’s weird.

$3 for the Saints under 40 is good odds. Dogs are shot and have no naughton

Pies almost lost to North, their form is tailing. If the Crows put in they’ll get up. Also great odds

Makes you wonder if the AFL really are concentrating of TV rights (though I'm sure they are).  While they can't have known weeks ago that these games would be so significant, they sure as hell could have re-scheduled the game in Perth to start a few hours earlier, say 2pm local time.

Saints should win. As someone has said, Crows have a real chance of knocking off the Pies.

Thanks, I didn’t know Naughton was out.
changed my tip. If the Dogs win, it’s your Fault Dub ok :)

How many players have Brisvegas lost to Covid this week?

GW$ are done for the year, but will the beat a 2nd string Lions?

draw ( can't make up my mind )

filth ( they travel well )

GWS

tigers

Geelong

Sydney ( play optus well )

hawks

MFCSS

Gold Coast.

I see Nic Nat didn’t get up again. How this bloke escapes extreme criticism from the wider AFL community is beyond me. He hasn’t fronted up in shape for 5 years.

I’d rather Geelong win. Best to keep Carlton out of the top 4 because I think they are a bigger September threat. we know the cats will chit the bed come finals.

Changed my mind about game 8. Port to win. Look at Melbournes final selections. Coopers pale ale will get a hammering tonite.

Ah, try for his entire career. Always looks short of a good gallop

Ah so the Dogs have Bruce as an in after some VFL following last year's ACL. A warm up before his obligatory bag against us next week?

Saints looking really average at the minute.

Saints ball movement atrocious. They are going to play the doggies into form right before we play them next week

AINTS AINT NO GOOD

Ungle Bungle a soft shell crab so Meh

Cody Weightman frustrated by all the talk about Ginnivan being the most annoying player in the league. Still wants the title.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
