The VFA belting the living daylights out of each other.  Grand days!

Well the old churches leagues were just as bad and so was Federal Football League.

Pickering said there's no way he'll be leaving the Swans even for $100/$250k more.  He'll finish up with a one year contract there it seems.

Did stuff all tonight. Swans have McDonald and Amartey, they’re the future. As good as he’s been it’s coming to an end, time to play him up the ground.

The Dees should go after Buddy for a little extra what the swans are gong to pay him . Think about the upside of this occurrence which is increased membership.

I would not assume that at all.

Nope..

Comical at best, Lions are cooked as per their efforts in big games during this season and the last 3 finals series. I hope the Lions are stupid enough to take him.

Strange to say the least if true

I could understand GCS doing it to increase attendances but why when you have Daniher, Hipwood and Cameron would you want an ageing Buddy

Surely this is rubbish. Cannot see a winner in this scenario.

They have Hipwood and Daniher. Bizarre

What's Hipwood's contractual status?

Plus how does Brisbane satisfy the Swans with all their draft picks being utilised for father/sons Ashcroft and Fletcher?

Honestly what’s he worth?

Actually, just found out he's a restricted free agent, so nothing unless Sydney match.

I think BA was asking about $$

My guess is he wants around $750k x 2 but would take $600 x 3

If the bears take him we can sit back and have a great big LOL at them.

He'll be linked with every team in the league before signing an extension with the Swans

why would you announce it before the finals

swans wouldn't be impressed at timing

That’s what I thought.

I thought that brazenly approaching a player like that mid-season would be considered poaching.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
