Did Naughton start as a back? I can't remember if WB started him in the backline and then out of necessity he was moved forward.

Yes, he was recruited as a Centre Halfback. Luke played him forward as at the time they lacked a marking target. Given the backline is suspect I am surprised he hasn't been moved back but then they haven't had many marking targets until now

Gee 10 games?

I guess it still beats 10 games of having nothing.

Yup 10 games, he doesn't travel, and it gives JVR good access to develop too.

it's all a pipe dream but it could work if he wanted another medal.  i think he is happily retired though

Cal Twomey saying not to rule out Melbourne yet as a destination for Karl Amon.

Langdon and Amon on either wing would be awesome....Really rate him, elite field kick, has pace and skills, works really hard both ways.

Amon is exactly what we need, Jordan is a really good role player on the wing, but i actually think we're missing his hands inside, and Amons speed and kicking combination is something we really lack.

I can see clubs chasing Tomlinson and Bedford . Personally we have a lot of small forwards , one player will go. Tomlinson is finding it hard to break into the back six , ideally we should have tried him as a forward. BB and Weid are not up to it .

On the subject of Naughton will cost too much and he lacks consistency.

Exactly, Ed and Amon on either wing would be an incredible threat. Gives us more ability to hurt opposition by foot.

At 47.28 how consistent do you want?  6th in the Coleman and better than Fritta.  And he is only 22.

The boy can leap at the footy I'll give him that.

If he is gettable we should have a go, but I don't think he is a better forward than Fritta.

Regardless of who is better (Naughton by a long way), two of them is better than one.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
