We can play much better, whether Geelong can is another question

Back to basics

We got away with breaking through tackles against brissy but it's not the go tonight

Will the umps keep it consistent and pay the tackles the other way?

Gee our backline has the wobbles at the moment.

They’re smashing us on rebound. Their kicking skills are good. We’re holding up fine in the air, but once it’s on the ground or running we’re struggling. Missing Hunt or Rivers to lock down more on those types of attacks. Hibberd is ok, but Bowey and Salem aren’t great at defending. They’re both offensive options.

Are we playing who can hold the ball the longest?

get rid of it on the first option. May might as well have not played at this point.

We need to take the first option, not fend off Hollywood style and get caught....how many times this quarter?

Go back to the VFL Bedford

Rough after one contest that suited the bigger guy. Let’s see Tuohy get him if Bedford gets it in space.

Cats are experienced and strong bodied  team. Need to stop trying to break tackles and take Hollywood options. Back to basics, first option football when the pressure is on.

Reckon they're scoring mainly from our mistakes

Yes.  May has to lift. He will l reckon  here comes a five goal quarter l hope

Gotta put a clamp on Dangerfield

Steven May is genuinely killing us!

How about more time focusing on your game Maysey and less time spraying other blokes.

Thought viney had learnt but alas let's take everyone on again, same with harmes.

This is how Geelong have such a good home ground advantage. We seem so confused with the lack of space on wings. Everything is compressed and we can't play our regular game style.

Went to ground and cost a goal earlier in the quarter. He was good against Brisbane, but wasn’t great last week and was close to worst on ground that first quarter. He’ll need to lift or he’ll be dropped again.

Bit harsh

Bedford 69kg v Touhy 91kg

not sure he will win any body on body contest if he stays on him. Let’s see how he goes for the rest of the game?

Why are our players falling over? Seen at least 10 times our player has fallen over. Cats staying on their feet.

1st quarter

stupidity abounds.  Harmes May Oliver Viney. Take the first option. Turned into trouble. Fended tackler ??! This is not v the Kangas.   Not sharp.  Lucky to be even.

Bowey.  Ummm. Hmmmm.

Trac 😄

Twice Bedford getting caught out in a marking contest with a bigger player that quarter. What goes on there?

Playing a small forward line has this consequence

Really wish we brought one of Hunt/Rivers in.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
