For a team sitting top of the ladder I don't have alot of confidence in our ruck stocks.

Weid gets his final chance. I hope he takes it.

Not that I’m excited or anything but…this is my FIRST EVER interstate match!!!  🥳

Look out Adelaide, there’ll be a coven of footy mums behind the goals and make no mistake… we’re NOT to be taken lightly!

Go you good thing

Well, I am off to bed. Been a big day of celebration over my way with a birthday in the family.

will be watching over breakfast and a coffee.

I have confidence in our systems and structures.

Witches? 😉

The only thing that concerns me is the inside info Burgess has on our player stengths/weakeness, game structures etc.

Crows will be all out to get a fast start.  We will need to be alert early for new tactics, after all they surprised us with a winning game plan last year, without Burgess.

If we can get the fast start, kick straight and take the crowd noise out we will be well on our way.

Had hoped this would be a % booster and we win by the 6-8 goals.  Now thinking a win of 3-4 goals, even without a recognised ruckman.  A game to bank the 4 points and move on.

The pressure’s right back on today in the absence of our two ruckmen.

Our list management and recruiters have done a solid job in recent years but it was obvious at draft time last year that there was potential for today’s scenario. Apart from Max and Dogga, all we had was 195cm Majak Daw in the twilight of his career and the likes of TMac, Weed, the Browns and maybe Tomlinson who are makeshift at best. They  sidestepped the issue at the National Draft and didn’t address it at Midseason Draft time so let’s hope that it doesn’t blow up in our face today.

WCW ... hope you have an enjoyable day at the footy.

Where is everyone else going to watch the match? If anywhere. I'm going to the Sporting Globe in Richmond.

Yep! Especially when any of the boys are unduly disparaged. 😉

JK, of course.
But M Brown, the walking vomit emoji (on DL, anyways), is one such player.  Shazza Neal-Bullen is very fond of “Mitchy.” Join the dots. 😁

Went to the sport Adelaide game earlier in the year.Enjoyed the non 4&20 pie and found the glass of red wine very full.! Enjoy

So I went on my belated honeymoon this week to the Whitsundays and got covid on day 1. I thought though… at least I’ll get to watch a drubbing on Saturday. so screw Jackson, I damn well expect a drubbing.

I’m waiting to board and there’s a group of sadsack Carlton supporters. I thought, look at those poor chumps, dejectedly going home to Sadelaide having attended last night’s match. But now I just hope that’s not me tomorrow. 😬

I was supposed to be there but my plans fell through. Work got in the way

Have a great day WCW

Hypothetical

You're in hospital likely to be discharged today after spending the day in ED yesterday with a cardiac 'issue'.

Assuming discharge goes ahead, would you:

- watch the Dees game live on the TV

- only watch after knowing the result?

We're much better than the Crows with or without a recognised ruck man.

There'll be no boil-over this year. Dees by 39 points

I wouldn’t waste any time Luci, I’d send Harmes straight to Burgo.

We’ve had great ruckmen for the last, what 30 years?, and we have been pretty [censored] in all that time - only last year did we win the premiership. I’d suggest that  ruckmen are simply show bag fillers, and we can still win this easily  even without our 2 best big men - because we have strength all over the ground and a midfield that don’t need silver service to perform.  Go Dees

(please don’t tell Max and LJ I called them show bag fillers).

We should still be fresh and after last year surely wont take them lightly. Big job for Weid to halve the ruck contests and our mids to shift to sharking their taps. Looking forward to seeing another week of ANB, Spargo, Koz and TBed swarm the forward pressure.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
