Stewart straight to tribunal

Yep, and will be lucky to get away with 4 weeks for that one... should be 6 at least.

...but the AFL don't control the tribunal so it's anyones guess.

Sniping at its worst

Their percentage would have dropped slightly.  I'm tempted to say "by a whisker".  :D

Despite a short paws in performance, they clawed their way to a win

The umpires should also be reprimanded for the Stewart incident, that they allowed play to continue (and a subsequent goal) is an out and out disgrace.

Where is the duty of care?

They should also be suspended

Exciting game that one. Lots of pressure, felt finals like and a tight finish. Great viewing as a neutral.

Stewart should get a minimum of three weeks suspension for the bump to Prestia. Chandler got two weeks for an unlucky run down tackle as part of play that knocked a bloke out. Stewart chose to run past the ball and intentionally bump someone in the head, knocking him out. If he gets two weeks or less I’ll be disgusted. I should be used to the inconsistency and injustice, but it still [censored] me to tears.

I've already got a couple of sad and empty bottles in front of me , so I doubt ill see this game out.

I wonder how @Sir Why You Little is going at his "respectable saloon" in Bangkok?

Didn't I read somewhere you were going there to meet up with him? Hope you both behave, Bitter but optimistic

Now now Stiffy..... don't be thinking about matters that might get you over excited.

In those blunt cases the AFL offical and fourth umpire should send a message to the officiating umpire and they should be sent off. No medi sub allowed either. But the way the umps game the cats everything I’m surprised they didn’t disallow Soldo coming on and instead allow the cats to have 5 on the bench.

West Coast looked A LOT better against Geelong, I’m not saying their going to be winning on the regular but like a large portion of bottom teams they aren’t as they seem. They’ve had COVID rip through their club (poor management and attitudes perhaps) as well as a number of injuries to compound it. They have a lot of premiership players in their team, so when things get going they are capable of playing decent footy. Love seeing the bombers lose!

For sure and a lot of those premiership players came to the fore last night. Well deserved win. Good to see Essendon have the performance of a lifetime last week and then bottle it this week.

JEELONG VERY LUCKY

Umps on their side, but Richtank gave up a handy lead halfway through last quarter

Saints ... very ordinary side.

Steel ... shot for goal  ...  kicked out on the full. He's not a A grader.

Recruits ... Jones & Crouch. Very average players.

And too many players who aren't physically big enough.

On the showing so far, saints will be lucky to get within 10 goals.

Blind Freddie could see that he was concussed ... as you say, where is he duty of care?

Conversely, on Thursday night they held up play when the Brisbane guy who took on Frittata front on and injured his chest (Lyon?)  walked from the field.

Why the difference?  AFL please explain.

The agenda deems outcome > actions, Prestia jogged off the ground........................................

And then failed a concussion test, missed the rest of the game and will also miss the next one.

Half time at SCG and as usual I am watching constipated footy being played. That ground is not suited to AFL footy.

If Sydney get up tonight the finals are almost beyond the horizon for St.K and Richmond. Will need to go 5-3 in their remaining games and have a decent % just to fall into the eight and play an away knock out game. Happy days!

Cats with double the free kicks. Still ****house

Just checked the stats as I thought watching it that umps weren't very friendly to Richmond

26 to 13 is embarrassing for the umpires, they failed to pay soooo many frees to Richmond in 2nd half

I’ve seen cow paddocks in better condition than the SCG.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
