In what world does a restaurant "close a table" instead of just removing the problem customers

Ridiculous statement. For one, this would need to be a court matter. Second, the complainant needs to be able to prove that revenue loss. There is no such thing as "possible", only what can be proven.

Fourth, the restaurant will probably gain revenue out of this. May/melky should ask for a cut

As mentioned earlier, the restaurant may wish to let this die down quickly.

Without even in the slightest excusing the behaviour of our players, the restaurant's licence does include fairly strict guidelines and rules about the responsible serving of alcohol, including requirements NOT to serve to intoxicated persons.   They may not want to rock the boat.

Given the severity of the incident, I would be very surprised if the AFL stepped in. We don't even have a police report as far as I understand.

Well you're telling the story now, is that what happened? Did they punch on inside and were tables broken?

None of it makes much sense to me…May is hit hard enough to be “decked” by Melk but fine to wander off to a nightclub afterwards and doesn’t have a mark on him the next day? And now they are all good, if a “mate” punched me hard enough to knock me over I don’t think we’d be friends again that easily…none of it adds up

Well well well,

And the facts will come out if there is more to play out!

Gees, this has the potential to not only derail our efforts but it could also have some telling effects for one S May!

I guess we will be hearing from Melksham after all. If either party has lied to the club, they are up ship creek and Gawn and the club will have egg all over their face

Why are you so hell bent in hearing from Melksham?

Let it go..

Police were quoted Tuesday IIRC

Not an incident they need to look into

Not sure I want to continue to endorse a club that lets May get away with this sort of stuff.

I thought we were all about selflessness and team above ego... no matter how good  a footballer he is ..this guy is destructive..

I'd be happy to see him play  for Casey till the end of  the year and then he can go to the Filth or the druggies for chips..

The bit where Gerard asks "who were the other 2 players" and he says "I'm not going to answer that, so don't ask me" ... 🙄

Does he actually know?

You could ask me who was the person on the Grassy Knoll and I could say "look, dont ask me that because I'm not going to say..."

So basically it was a bit of Banter, May was [censored] and acting arrogant, was pulled up, hot head Melky steps in. May doesn’t like that. He alphas up and the fight begins. Settle down media

How on earth are the media getting drip fed all this stuff??

Is the club releasing it to them, or players themselves??

Can only be one or the other right?

You're going to give away an AA defender to one of our rivals for nothing?

Some of the takes in this thread are beyond ridiculous

Not at all. If nothing was broken there is no issue, but if there is both boys should fix any problem caused.
i am merely stating that The Media have overblown this, as they were always going to

Most of the reported details were made public by club, recent reports are just restating them in a way that embellishesthem to make the story seem like a scoop and not just reporting old news, there's only been a few extra pieces of new info come to light, like the comments that were made.

There were 7 player there (and not sure but maybe 2 others)

They would've all told a few mates before the story came out on Tuesday or since then.So potentially 15 pr 20 people know a few details, and then rumours spread

Given very little extra substance, fingers crossed there's not much else to it

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
