The all-conquering Melbourne Storm were stomped on by the Penrith Panthers last night after some monster wins. Beware Melbourne!

  • Demonland changed the title to GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs West Coast

Just had a look on Big Footy and Wet Toast supporters are concerned that the rest of the AFL look at their team as tanking. The thought had crossed my mind as some of their selections are surprising.

I’m in Fiji currently and am considering a weekly sub to WatchAFL to watch it but all the reviews I’ve read bemoan the quality of the stream. Can anyone confirm whether it’s worth it?

I use WatchAFL to watch every game in the UK and it’s fine for me. Might be more of an internet quality issue than an app issue

Greetings from near Lismore where it’s still raining. It’s been wet since November. God it’s miserable. Hopefully a light from the west today.

Hopefully all our Perth brethren can get along to see the boys run around on the hallowed turf of Optus

Eagles a shambles, we're chugging along nicely

As much as i'd like to see an Eagles bloodbath, it's not our style

Assuming you have a decent internet connection, yes, it’s absolutely worth it.  I’ve been a subscribers for several years.

… as well as running through the banner!

*cough* I personally cut out all of the Ts and Es and the K and the exclamation mark, including the dot, which is not really a dot, more the size of a dinner plate. *cough*
Long cough right there. I needa quit smoking. 😁

PS. I’ll be driving from Tropea to Matera during game time 😕
I’ll watch the match on watchafl.com when I arrive. Go Demons!

Started work early so I could make the matinee down at John Foord Oval with Corowa taking on Yarrawonga. Despite Corowas improvement (only falling 2 points shirt of Albury, and should have won on expected score) I think Yarra will be to tough an ask.

Leg of lamb on the rotisserie and a fat cuban I'll be round in the forward pocket scoreboard end if anyone's hungry.

About to get on my flight now to Perth hopefully it’s not a sad trip home.

A fat Cuban? Is his name Fidel?

When I was in Fiji in 2017 we were playing Carlton and it was close. The stream was reliable for the whole match except for the last 2 minutes when the game was in the balance and it was a goal the difference. The steam was buffering and the hotel internet went to [censored]. I couldn’t even get the score online for about 5 minutes after the match.

Apparently we kicked a goal and won by 8 points.

I’d put the blame on Fiji’s internet infrastructure in 2017 rather than WatchAFL.

Apart from that it was great.

I had a similar experience in round 13 2014. I was also in Fiji.

Essendon vs Demons. Game was superclose. My connection came back for 30seconds as I watched the ball move from half back, up to Salem who marked 20meters out.

Connection goes down again and I know it's going to take 3 minutes to buffer again but I didn't care. I knew Salem was a good kick and would kick it.

Stream is good

This is the most weird Gameday thread I’ve ever read …….... I hope it’s not a portent of events at Optus Stadium this evening!

I can’t see the Eagles challenging our beloved Dees, that is, unless some greater power intervenes with thunder and lightening, or some such ………… but even then, knowing the Dees as we do, I’m sure we would ‘find a way’!

Another regulation ‘Melbourne’ win coming up, with a margin between 40 and 60 points, I reckon.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
