how do we pronounce narrm given the double r

is it NARM  (single syllable)

or NAR-R(u)M  (2 syllables)

or something else

well, listening to the official launch video it would seem the pronunciation is NARM as a single syllable with a longish R

Great initiative by the club. Leading the way again.

Feels like Nev Jetta should be involved. Hope he returns to the club someday

Yet another reason to be proud of and love this club.

as for the jumper, I actually hope that this year we wear last year’s indigenous jumper is worn in the Alice Springs game, as we were denied it last year and it was designed by a local artist and friend, I think it would be a great gesture to wear this brilliant jumper on the oval across the road from her daughter’s school.

Great initiative. I know the reaction of some but hope they keep it to themselves.

Not my favourite of the alternative jumpers but watching that video explains why - it’s telling a pretty involved story of the club, the land, the G, and the links between all three. It’s going to be busy.

I like this. I reckon our club has taken real steps in progressing along a path of reconciliation.

Not sure about the jumper though. Looks a bit too much like the Bulldogs’ Captain America jumper from a few years back. 🫤

The concept and naming is a good idea but much going on there on the jumper. I prefer something more akin to the traditional elegant grace and simplicity of indigenous art. Reminds me of the old dreaded Schwabovian shield logo from the dark days. And why does the oversized bird of prey remind me too much of Meth Coke and the Dorks?

I'm all in on the Narrm initiative. The long sleeved guernsey though reminds me of those 'ugly jumpers' people wear around Christmas time.

Very happy about this. Solid move by the club. My Roos-supporting mate was very quick to tell me how impressed he was as well, and it’s always a good feeling to back a club who impress other supporters, on and off the field.

He was also asking if this meant the Roos were allowed to go with “North Narrm”.

I agree with all that think the Narrm Dees footy club rebranding is a great idea. Gees I couldn't be prouder of our club.

Hopefully the Kangaroos take on North Narrm for the round, also has a nice ring to it.

Hey, we don’t want to get involved in aNarrms race!

Brilliant!!! I’m sure we have cheer squad members on here (even if they’re “noms” only @WalkingCivilWar ) I think it’s a great initiative to get behind in the banner and in the crowd.

Narrm Army or Narrmy Army. We are Narrm.

As of this morning it’s all official, Cards!
Not sure how the OGs would feel about someone who’s been a member for 5 minutes putting forth such a big proposal. Hashtag sit down noob.

I actually love this.

Me too.

I'd hope we could get it ticked off (that Naarmy doesn't change the meaning some way), but if all clear it would make me proud to roll this into our regular cheer squad chants.

Relieved to have only seen a couple of somewhat negative posts on social media from our fanbase. Previously you'd see some "WIN A FLAG then do A/B/C"  type behavior , some real suspect individuals on the internet.

Won't be buying the jumper (still need to get last year's signed and framed) but hoping for some further Narrm FC products.

TBF to the club, we did win a flag. Does that mean we can do whatever we want now?

I personally can’t see this happening. It would likely be dismissed on account of being seen as making light of a profoundly important issue. There’s a time and a place for sh*ts n giggles, and this isn’t one of them, imvho.

Maybe put some more on sale too. I missed out last year and thought it was the best ever.

In fact, the 2021 one was such a popular design I wish the club would consider a year-round indigenous range using that design - not just jumpers, other stuff too, maybe even with the "Narrm" branding on it (with the artist's agreement, of course). I bet they'd sell like hotcakes. And then a new jumper design each year.

Should definitely produce more, will sell well at the game in Mparntwe

Love this initiative and love that Matthew Whelan was so involved.  Anyone who doesn’t like the jumper design has to do tackle work with Wheels 😂

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
