I believe he also had both hips operated on around the time he was drafted and that resulted in him losing a bit of speed.

I reckon that's right about Toumpas. It was reported that the injury/surgery also led to a modified gait (IIRC).

How good would it be to have Another Yze at the club and eventually playing for us, Noah is a good height and if he is anything like Adem he will be a beauty. lets hope he has a great year in the Coates League.

Re Noah. I think he is a bit of a late developer. He wasn’t focused solely on footy for a while there.
The knock on him I heard was about athleticism and hardness. But that was 2 years ago. He may have matured since then.
Like all father-son prospects. I want him to come to us and be successful. But also not cost us much in terms of draft considerations.

If no club wants him then at worst he will be taken in the rookie draft, if his good enough to go in top 40 picks, then go for him

It’s a good height for the modern midfielder.

What’s he like athletically? Is he quick? agile? Fit as a horse?

A touch under 19 hands and about 65 years in horse age.

I have to share a quote I stumbled across while checking this;

A horse reaching 20 years of age is considered “old”, but this depends very much on how long the horse has lived.

Hard to take this with much seriousness as Alex will not talk down a player in his team.

Curious if anyone has seen him in the last few weeks to corroborate Alex’s assessment?

I really want to cash in on a gun F/S prospect.

Why didn’t Neita or Schwartz have any gun footy playing children. A KPP would be handy right about now.

Tigga Johnstone is playing Under 14 football and has been selected for inter league team. Haven’t seen him play myself but apparently goes OK.

Is this because he is playing a different competition?

Has played the last couple of CTL games with a lot of the metro players missing for Oakleigh. Looks like he played back on the weekend, numbers don’t jump off the page.

Last round of APS football was 15th of June so he has been available for Oakleigh Chargers selection since then. APS season resumes on 20th July.

One can dream. His father had such incredible talent but didn't put the effort in unfortunately.

Good luck to the young lad

Immensely talented.

Still to this day there isn't a Melbourne player I've come across that could absolutely drill a low flat 40m pass on either footy with ease.

He was laconic as they come but God when he was on he could seriously player.

If you ever get the chance ask David Neitz and Russell Robertson what they thought of trapper. Their eyes would light up when he had ball in hand.

Oh, it's almost too much to consider getting another David Schwartz or Johnstone. It would answer a thousand prayers across the years.

At his pre-injuries prime - even during those difficult post-traumatic days from recoveries - Schwartz was a glorious football talent, achiever, match-winner, commanding respect from anyone who ever watched football with an informed interest. Travis was also a supreme talent with skills and effects unmatched by most top-line players. My mind is suddenly swelled with recollections of some of the never-to-be-repeated things that these great blokes did onfield with the Dees. Just take a look at their highlights reels ... for refreshment.

Trapper only played 49 games for Brisbane. Bonbeach is a hell of a lot closer to Melbourne than Brisbane.

Well the afl will have to change the rules then so the lions can get another father son.....

AFL new rule, anyone whose last name starts with YZ can’t go father/son.

Probably the best individual hour of play by any Melbourne player I've ever seen.

Farmer’s 9 goal 2nd half against Collingwood must be pretty close

190 cm - presumably he is still growing too.   But other than his name is he a good or good+ player?

    HEAVENS ABOVE by Molly Melbourne

Who said the football gods and scoreboard attendants at the MCG don’t have a sense of humour? The gods spent a whole week teasing Demon and Bomber fans alike about Saturday night’s game. About how the entire match would be dominated by the hulking, brooding figures of 205cm Sam Draper and his 2IC Peter Wright lapping it up in the absence of Melbourne skipper and the club's No.1, No 2, No 3 and No 4 ruckman Max Gawn in the wake of that ankle injury. They painted pictures of Simon Goodwin ne

    GIANT HEADACHE by Whispering Jack

The crack in the captain’s ankle might be very small but the repercussions of the injury are enormous. The aftershock of the news that Max Gawn will sit on the sidelines for the next two or three weeks has provided Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin with a giant headache, not unlike the one he faced after the Kings Birthday when another Demon superstar Christian Petracca suffered his season-ending injury. That headache is magnified by the fact that Goodwin is facing a month of tough encounters a

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among
