That was tremendous, but I will say that decision by Lauren Pearce to kick sideways after getting the free kick at the end could have been one fo the all-time blunders had Brisbane kicked a goal at the end.

Awesome win today. Gutsy performance in a real combative match. We won the contest most of the day and got the job done. Great effort girls!

Heres hoping they win next week and raise the cup on the G!

Great win girls. Now we are there so lets get the job done.

First Melbourne premiership captain in 58 years to hold the cup up at the 'G (if freo win this afternoon 🤞🏻)

That'd be awesome.
 Daisy's a champ.

Absolutely stoked.  Loved the effort, loved the desire.

Like many around here, I’ve been saying ever since our AFL win, that I wanted the ‘double’.  We are now only one step away from really putting ourselves on the Aussie Rules map.

That was superb

heart and guts topped off with plenty of class from hanks and bannon in particular

This team are magnificent. They do the red and blue guernsey proud.

go dees

Noticed that the clock didn't restart for five seconds. So it was a final 41 seconds of play.

Well done girls. Keeping that Melbourne winning premierships dreams alive.

Good thing these commentators aren't horribly biased 🙄🙄

I actually yelled out “what are you doing Lauren” as she started looking around. Bizarre choice and lucky it didn’t come back to cost us.

It was the right option but she took way too long then had a half back flanker run by and get in her way.

Absolutely burn the tapes of the last 5 minutes. It was a disaster. Everything that could go wrong trying to ice the clock did.

But they played incredible footy in the 3rd and start of the 4th to get that buffer

Into another GF 💪

Would be extremely ironic if we were to win away from home and members again.

Bring it home girls!!!!!!

Colvin was exception. Heath unreal. Goldy just got stronger as the game went on.

Paxy found space, Bannan found the paddock and off she went.

Loved Zanker’s work as a back up ruck.

Daisy was involved in everything good. Just so strong at the fundamentals.

And Megan Fitzsimon was really important too.

There’s some simple stuff they can do with Kate Hore and especially Tayla to get them going I think. If those two can find their best form we can go to another level.

Top effort Dees great 3rd quarter last 5 minutes were a bit stressful but the team got it done and into a Granny and the skies the limits.❤️💙💕

Solid crowd at 6500

I think there’d be more than a few that were disappointed with that crowd. Free entry, first crack at finals, grand final on the line. I understand it was really miserable weather but I didn’t feel the club and the AFL pumped it up enough.

I would’ve hoped for 10k+ in these circumstances.

Anyway I’ll go to positive now, what a great achievement for the girls and club. So proud of them, they played like the MFC across the board. We have built a culture and that goes from Casey Mens, to AFLW, to the mens team. So glad a few of the boys were there to watch it.

McNamara’s goal could’ve been our best of the weekend were it not for Langdon. Paxman was tireless as always, and Bannan has some serious jets on her. Adelaide are a very good side and as I speak seem to be doing a number on Freo, so hopes of a home GF look extremely unlikely. But either way we are in it, and if we play our best it stacks up.

What a great time our club is having. Keep your eye on the red and blue!

Yep definitely lost our heads then, she seemed to play on thinking get it forward and then realised she should ice the game, and then split the different and kicked it straight to a Lions player!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
