I just have a hunch this isn’t over. If Tom was truly guilty shouldn’t we have had an apology by now?

He has been stood down until it is investigated. There is absolute silence from the Tom camp which suggests he is taking legal and PR advice.

I maintain that if he has done what is alleged, then throw the book at him.

Bevo has apologised, matter done. Morris has to live the rest of his life knowing the world thinks he is a pajero. Great result.

And am rapt First Crack won't have his insipid sniping blighting what is generally some good analysis.

Just heard the alleged audio by Tom about what he said about Megan. Absolutely disgusting & it's a disgrace they sacked a good journo in neroli but have just stood Tom down for now.

So now we find out the real Tom. Not much sympathy now. Remember Tom, things recorded can be found. Always thought he was a bit swifty.

Surely this is a case of :

1.   Bevo's orderered to apologise by Dogs to avoid or mitigate against a libel suit by Morris/Fox

2.  Bevo sympathisers turning to attack as the best means of defence - hence the leaked audio of Morris. Ezquisite timing. Well done lads (as Goody would say)

3.  The internet never forgets.

SCore:  1 all draw.  Game over for both IMO.

Now wih Bont injured and acknowledged clear superiority of Dees over Dogs - with a 1 dimensional forward struture Dees exposed again for all to see - is 2022 now over for them?

I was never a fan of Morris and the behaviour last night was completely out of line and absolutely poor from Beveridge.

But then hearing the audio and it shows why Morris is and always has been a grub.

Disgusting.

Wow 10 pages of indignation on someone who has nothing to do with our club. Must be what happens to clubs who win constantly, nothing else to talk about.

Our premiership defeneders were sitting in the stands - mostly-  and we turn the game  around by 8 goals, thanks to a good team/system effort and everyone standing up,  and the incoming players aquittingthemselves .

Of course there's nothing to [censored] about so our interest wanders elsewhere to Bevo's train wreck.

But the rest of the comp will be still be saying - forget Bevo et al,  what can we do about the  Dees for sure.

Interesting to see if they crack this year

Maybe all their games should be Sunday 4 pm at Docklands (or Ballarat)

Well this whole saga has gone crazy, Bevo/Dog apologising was predictable (and necessary), but then the leak of Morris saying those things, someone has gone down the “don’t get mad get even” path to deflect the story onto Morris. Now there will be people saying “well it’s ok that Morris copped his whack because look at him, he’s a grub”.

I hope the two issues are made separate though, what Bevo did was unacceptable from an AFL coach. And the way Morris spoke of the female colleagues is unacceptable in any professional or general world environment. I’d say his career is in a spot of bother.

Of course he did.

Cue @Clint Bizkit

Also those talking about him being ‘cancelled’; he is experiencing ‘consequences’ not cancellation. Some of you are even alluding to saying things like this in your past. If you still think that talking like that about a colleague, or joking about blacks, gays, and women being treated worse than a white man should not see consequences then you are a dinosaur and your value is to museums and oil concerns.

Morris versus Beveridge has all the appeal of Carlton versus Richmond. Want all to lose this one.

Disagree (see above).

If Beveridge had a crack at Morris because Morris is a sexist, homophobic, racist [censored], then unloading on him in a nationally televised press conference was not the way to go about it.

But with Beveridge's track record of verbally abusing media pundits who say things he doesn't like about his own team, it's highly likely his attack was solely in relation to the reporting of Hunter being dropped. Which has zero justification, no matter what you think about Morris.

Either way, Beveridge's actions were pitiful. Morris remains a [censored].

I agree with all of thst.

What I was referring to is that I wonder if Morris if guilty of spreading unsavoury rumours about dog's players or revealing personal details.

As the jessie Hogan text suggests, he has form in thst regard.

And as the leaked audio suggests he lacks integrity (not to mention, and is a racist, homophobe and misogynist).

There is something else going on here than selection related leaks. It felt very personal for Beveridge.

But you are right, none of that excuses Beveridge's behaviour. Perhaps helps explain it, but definitely not excuse it.

On the above I heard the dogs ceo (his name escapes me) being interviewed on 3aw. Was asked if there was something else here to explain such an over the top reaction from Beveridge. Very instructive answer.

After a pause said, paraphrasing, I don't want to go into any further detail and we don't want to be making any excuses.

The implication was clear. There is something else at play here.

Ironically, needs a gutter 'journalist like Morris to uncover the real story

Tom Morris ‘didn’t expect’ offensive recordings to leak

Fox Footy reporter Tom Morris says he “didn’t expect” derogatory messages about a co-worker that were sent to a mate would circulate, but says he has “learnt a lesson”. Is he stupid? Of course comments like that find there way out.

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/subscribe/news/1/?sourceCode=HSWEB_WRE170_a&dest=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.heraldsun.com.au%2Fnews%2Fvictoria%2Ffox-footy-reporter-tom-morris-stood-down-after-audio-of-lewd-comments-leaked%2Fnews-story%2F5a3ce2735bc6050ec73c1e26805e3005&memtype=anonymous&mode=premium&v21=dynamic-hot-test-score&V21spcbehaviour=append

Fake news.

Looking at the actual headline and teaser para, it's his mate who shared the audio clips who has learnt his lesson.

Didn’t think it would go viral apparently. That's his lesson

Funny stuff.

If it had been an AFL player or coach that had made those comments Fox would have been all over it but I haven't heard a peep about it on this evenings broadcast. Surely Jon Ralph would have an 'exclusive' on the developing story.

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
