Correct! Steven May had all but agreed to be a Pie until his manager suggested a chat with Goody. After one phone call with him, he told his manager to find a way to get him to The Dees.

I wonder what his conversation with FIGJAM entailed? I reckon it was because Maysie was blown away by Goody not mentioning himself every 30 seconds 😁

just an advert for their sports management very little on Luke choosing us

The doco involves Dunstan because of his manager, and some of our presentation to Luke will be in this doco. D’Orazio actually explained our presentation to get Dunstan over the line as one of the best he’s ever seen.

Shocked he’d want to come to the best team in the competition.

We are tbhe cute nerdy girl next door who just quietly inherited a fortune.

We are suddenly extremely attractive.

I’d liken us to someone who has never really been good looking, then suddenly we became hot over the summer break

The decision makes a bit more sense to me after reading the article. Sounds like he just wanted a good workplace and a fair opportunity to get a game if his form deserves it

Originally I couldn't see why he would want to come here as he wouldn't get the game time I assumed he wanted.

Will likely be a great pick-up with covid looking to effect the year dramatically like other sports have been.

What works for Jeremy Howe from FIGJAM certainly not for Maysie who  would  need a strong  argument to be persuaded. Saw his hit on that unfortunate Lion at the Gabba five years ago and our Stephen definitely plays for keeps. And we would have thought that Hibbo was previously a new breed of tough!!!  Silly us!

PS That in  no way diminishes Hibbo as he has been deservedly rewarded as a premiership hero by good years more than not and a loyal and committed team man who was of AA standard in 2017.putting his peptides experiences well into the past and wiping them out at the same time and sadly his own family tragedy to boot early in 2021.

Ha ha! We let down our hair and took off our glasses and the high school quarterback suddenly realised: holy cow ... she's the 2021 AFL premier! and asked us to the prom.

When May went down in the Prelim , boy was I glad we had Hibbo roaming in defence. Thoroughly deserved Premiership medal.

The reason players who are free agents want to go to successful clubs is the promise of maybe playing in a GF and ultimately a premiership.

Like Frawley and Rivers they wanted success, some get the ultimate prize others miss out.

In any given year 3 or 4 teams standout but only 1 wins the prize and if the team is lucky with injuries and has enough scoring shot kicking accurately enough the prize is theirs.

In 2021 injuries played a part since a team like the Lions lost players who they could not cover with their depth players.

That is why depth players are important and the midfield is probably the most important area so players like Dunstan are valuable to team like the MFC.

Last year Richmond's midfield depth was tested and fell by the wayside.

Me too D17  Another analagy Who would you wish to play on at half back against The Dees

Hibbo or Joel Smith?

And I think Joel was making some good gains in the last half if 2021.

Lets Hope he gets a really full go at it all season and we may see the good that our Coach sees in him at last.

Good luck Smithy.

Maybe Luke Wanted to play for a coach who was prepared to defy Gil, and have an occasional beer with his players.

I see the attraction of Joel Smith with his athleticism & flexibility but his weaknesses were on display against Brisbane with under-developed footy nous. Too often allowed his opponent to get goalside, and flew at the ball without impacting on a few occasions.

Compare that to say Bowey who has lesser physical attributes but much better footy nous.

That's right but looking back, how the hell could the Pies have fit him into their cap??

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
