that  won’t work anymore as it’s all digital now … so if we lose to NM tom you’ll have to microwave yr phone!

Good point Wells!

It will take the Dickmond and filth supporters a while to catch on.  The iPhone/android dealers  around Punt road and Smith Street will make a fortune.

They may even do as well as the dealers of other ...err .... products , in the those areas .

Of course the orthodontists will remain miles in front.

Pretty handy North side given they are without 5 of their best 10 mids.

Backline should keep us honest and their forward line is very underrated with some tricky match ups.

Would like to see Simpkin, LDU and Cunnington really test us but I still think it's nice to play against a young and hungry side rather than a mature side that isn't that keen on giving much away in preseason.

From reading the training reports, Dunstan was doing additional running. His omission could be due to a minor injury, although that would have been reported. Or they could be preparing him for a particular role, and he hasn't reached those standards yet in match sim. Ben Brown was given a specific training regiment before his recall. Dunstan maybe in the same situation.

Yep thats it based  on what Ive seen at Training

It will be interesting to see where some of the players get a run during this match. No points up for grabs so I would imagine there will be a few trials of thoughts and ideas that have developed over the off season.

Will be interesting to see Turner getting a run. Not just to see his skill levels but also to see how he has been schooled in the defensive structures. Of most interest to me will be to see who runs through the wing positions, Jordon, Baker are obvious but we might see Hunt get a run there as well. They might give Gus an extended run in the center.

With the forwards there are a lot of tall options to rotate through there.

Will be good to see some footy and I hope there are no injuries to either team.

Anyone know the format? Will it be 4 quarters? Will we have large interchange benches? Will all the teams follow the same format or will it be agreed on the day by the participants? Any info appreciated.

They were originally going to do 6." qtrs"  with unlimited bench. North have had some gastro go through the joint (going to be a few players out)so going to be 4 qtrs not sure how long,  with even numbers on bench (not sure how many).

Gastro? We should postpone the game just to pizz Chris Scott off.

Will anybody be providing a running commentary from the ground (for those without Kayo)?

A Bombers mate of mine went to watch Essendon yesterday. He said immediately after the match there was a full-length seconds match. The supporters didn’t know this match was scheduled until it started. So I guess one needs to be prepared should something similar eventuate today.

Will Noble have a sook when we beat North by 12 goals?

GOODY will have a sook if we beat North by 12 goals. 12 goals is a GF winning margin, not a S&Gs match winning margin.

Fox has a blog for the game:  https://go.arena.im/live/fox-sports-australia/q9ckwvX?v=2

NMfc also will:  "There will also be full coverage of the game on NMFC website and app and on the NMFC Official accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook."

Can't find a ref that mfc will run a commentary but will check the website/twitter when the game starts.

Like others the only thing I hope for in these games is “no injuries” . Make no mistake all teams are going to come at us hard in the “we are tougher than you” stakes. Can’t we just play “ring a ring a rosy” and avoid any physical contact. Park our guns on the bench and play our second eleven. Still cricket season, far too early for footy. Maybe water the ground to avoid knee injuries and see how hungry our fringe players are in competing for scarce spots.

It will be good to see some footy again but the result means little:  2021 we were absolutely thrashed by the Bulldogs in the preseason and then, the rest is history!

In fairness we were missing some pretty big names against the Dogs whereas they were full strength.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
