Dont think afl members will be open and maybe mcc , depends where stage is . They will want ppl to face stage . Dont think there will be  general  seating on field , maybe for team families and past players sponsors . It will be seating in stand so they can trace if they have to . Im just happy we can be there.

Maybe the team can sync an on field replay as the game plays out in the big screen. All they would need would be 22 red, white and blue witches hats.

Very humorous mono.😀

man that's early, I was expecting a 3-6 type thing.

only 40K attending.  pity folks will have to miss out

I’m not sure it’s limited to 40k. I don’t think the club expects more than 40k to attend. You have to remember that 2 months have passed since the Gf. If it was the very next day, it may have been different

Normally there are 30 k on the grass at premiers sunday morning event mostly still brain dead .

Not sure what is planned but neale ron swooper ?are likely to be there. Maybe tribute to players and coach who passed way to early . Maxs first interview  alluded to the fact of how they did it for those who passed. Not sure what the induction process is for players to the club is but the history of the club probably gets a mention and those who passed tragically too.

You'd have to think that there will be food outlets open.

When I took the kids for the MCG tour and sports Museum back in April the cafe inside gate 3 was open during an average weekday with hardly anyone there. You'd have to assume they'll have at least a few of the outlets open.

Nephew’s engagement day but nephews are over rated.
Do we have to do the ticketek booking thing like during the season?

It’d be good to know a little bit more about how the day will look, will it be ticketed seating or will we be allowed on the hallowed turf?

Either way it’s going to be a great day!

rpfc is coming down to this event!

So glad Basil Zemplas is coming over to be MC again!

Really looking forward to finally hearing “Goody’s GF winning coachs speech”.  Given he now can really have more time (then the usual 90 seconds post the GF), I’m looking forward to how he has built the team culture and how it all clicked in 2021.

Hoping that the group of us that has been going to matches for the last 40 years can all get seated together. To celebrate from different seats would lessen the joy.

I reckon you will hear our usual shouting even tho it's only a replay.

i hope to hear the players commit to winning next year at the G in front of us loyal supporters.

Engagement parties are certainly overrated as well! It’s not the 80’s anymore 😂

Yes see the info in the Club website.

We should get Wolfmother to play AC/DC songs at half time.

failing that, the bugler can do a 20 minute MFC song 😂

Where does  it say about Alcohol being taken into the ground ?

I think the same rules that apply to the Footy or cricket will apply for Dec 5.
Bag checks will be standard as QR coding etc.

Here we go! What a day this is gonna be :)))

I hope that someone or some people can get the  'HERE WE GO' Chant going straight after Bontempelli's 3rd goal. Or as soon as the 3rd Quarter starts.

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
