Logie was serviceable I think. Would be an improvement on Weid. But does he play when TMac and BBB are firing?

Unless BB starts eating meat he ain’t firing again

My appraisal is making appraisals based on one game is silly.

At least through all the drivel in the commentary booth there was one spark of intelligence from Brayshaw "how do the Dockers satisfy Melbourne in a trade BT?"

Yes, how indeed?

Well how about an appraisal on the 40 odd games he's played. Who or what from Fremantle would be a fair deal.

We’d have to throw in a first rounder. Andrew Brayshaw is a far better player than Jackson at this stage and is still only 22 himself.

Agreed...He's a super player. Young or Serong would be nice but I'm sure they won't part with either.

BT also can’t identify players and often call them the wrong name. I’m pretty sure he has early onset dementia

Reckon he's simply a lazy, entitled dunce with a lack of football nouse.

👆 Occam's razor

After the Freo game the choice that Jacko has to make about his future must seem clearer to him.

Go to Freo, and get paid the big bucks and that  more likely than not is about it……..or

Stay with the Dees, earn less (but still good money) and evolve into potentially a multiple premiership player in a champion team.

I know what I would choose to do.

Doesnt even have to stay long term, another 2 seasons and then see

What I don’t understand is how we a premiership team can’t attract any of the better key fwds over and yet freo is able to poach Jackson. What is going on

Where are the good forwards?

Because his family are in Perth.

I suppose if we were desperate we could make a play for McStay who’s kicked a whopping 3 more goals than Weid.

MEGABUCKS speaks the lingo

Ummm. Jackson is a unicorn. There’s no other really exciting young ruckmen coming through.  He can ruck, play ruck rover and go forward.  But he’s still developing. He’s raw.  He showed last night that he sometimes has no awareness.  Run down.  Handballs to other players in worse positions.  Falls over.  Gets outbodied.  But the sky is the limit and his contract value will be based on a high degree of “potential”.

If he goes, it’s likely Freo will look at offering a 1st rounder 2022 and a 1st rounder 2023.  Let’s ponder if that’s enough.

The danger in that is the big money may not be available.

No chance we get Young, Serong, Brayshaw or any other starting 18 player

Why not? We're losing one of ours.

We should be pushing for one of the Vic boys. I agree it won't be Brayshaw or Young, but I'd be pushing for Serong.

Crossing bridges and all that

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
