Jacko Trac Clarry????

Theres now a list of premiership players who are going to look very attractive to opposition teams, who will have salary space or other attractions.

WA is a very atractive location and possibly cheaper with opportunities to get better return and n and nvestments.

BUT if you want to be part of the most significant ccesful TEAM and be remembered far beyond your playing career you may have to make some sacrifices.

Just look at Dangerfield  who has a profile as an important ndividual but has failed to get that elusive flag he wanted. Yes he has a great life in Geelong back home and is more than comfortable but he has not achieved the ultimate prize that all players want.

while the Premiership is the ultimate prize I am sure Swallow , Bowey and others will not be recognised as great until they are multiple winners over a long career.

Jacko has only just begun and I am sure he is something special but so was Jesse Hogan.

Good luck to the negotiators

Swallow ?

It must be a fun life, waiting for someone to make a spelling mistake on a forum, so you can call them out.

Well done to you

Don’t take it personally, 1964_2.
Actually, forget what I just said… DO take it personally. For it’s flattering to be pulled up by Demonstone as he only pulls up the best. 😁
Yes, he’s pulled me up a couple of times, and I’m a proofreader! But I’m proud to say that I once caught him out on an error. Alas, it was in a PM so everyone will just have to take my word for it. 😉

Just an attempt at levity, 1964.  Don't take it too seriously.

The problem is Demonstone that some posters do take it more than seriously. For some it can be confidence sapping.

I am a ( partially reformed) pedant. There are two reasons for this. First, I realised that fat fingers or too many vinos led to careless mistakes by my good self so ......... you know ..... glass houses etc.

Second, I realised that some posters ( just as in the general population are poor spellers)  and really are unable to do anything about it. So why (possibly) lessen their fun in posting?

Nowadays I am pedantic only toward posters who I really like or really dislike.

Whoops!!!

Cant even claim autocorrect I think I meant Spargo but I'm not even sure.

My emotions have been all over the place since I've been supporting the premiers.

I like LJ I really do. The kid has not put 50 games together and we are already getting our knickers in a knot.

He is learning his craft with an all time 5X AA ruckman. He ain’t going anywhere in the next few years. After that and a few more premierships I’ll happily exchange him for 2 top 10 draft picks that Meth coke will offer us ala Tim Kelly style. And we can rebuild once more. We will have Mac Andrew’s and Jeff whites Xbox by then anyway 😂😂to cover our ruck stocks.

Ok who are you, and what have you done with the real BBO?!! The BBO we all know and tolerate. This is too sensible, and even borderline sweet, to be him.

I actually thought you meant Sparrow. Both seven-letter words. Both begin with S. And both a type of bird!

I assumed Sparrow too

Me to.!!We all know how good Luke Jackson is and how much better we expect him to become, he has shown that he is a team oriented player that isn’t afraid of hard work. He is an MFC Premiership player who appeared to really enjoy our success, to my mind he is a stayer.❤️💙

Running back to Perth didn't work out too well for Jessie - I think Luke knows he is in a very special place right now

The core of this premiership team can enjoy sustained success and get handsomely paid too along the way If they stick together

Plenty of examples of characters that chased the $$$'s only to be disappointed - its not all about money IMO

"...The core of this premiership team can enjoy sustained success and get handsomely paid too along the way If they stick together..."

...and set up for life after footy too if they play their cards right and make sensible financial decisions.  The world is at their feet.

A trade deal can be worked out. They can play if they pay a tariff of one goal per quarter.

The boy's only 20 years old.

Plenty of time to make big dollars after success at the dees.

No rush.

GO DEES

The the AFL can then truly claim to be an international competition.

GO DEES

That shouldn't stop Dogga getting a just reward for his ability at his craft irrespective of age. I am sure the extensions over the last year or two were appropriate and fair. The 100% resigning would seem to indicate this.

Of course our Premiership  makes our players even more valuable but there are ways teams of players can be rewarded bonuses along the way.

If Dynasties like Hawks Cats Tigers can handle this I have no doubt the Dees are well equipped to reward our players the right way  and to maintain longevity of success in the process.

We wouldn't want to smell the old AFL for any reason anywhere...

Their friends in WA have long tentacles..

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
