Thanks for that. Whoops. Yep haven't lost a game yet with him in. That's a bloody good list of eight at 21 and younger. All of them very talented players. So its exciting times. I would argue the two to really go to a new level would be Kozzie and Jackson. No surprises there. I hope we can hold on to them. But I have give a shout out to Petty, when poor Adam  went down I was quite worried about losing such a great defender but young Harrison has been awesome .I wouldn't mind seeing him spend some time up forward. I reckon he would be a great at CHf. Have we missed anyone else?

No that’s it, but I hope Bailey Laurie gets a good run injury wise, imagine if he comes in and impacts the same way Bowser has. Still 19 years old so could be another to the list.

Petty was superb but I’d argue he has another level to go to like Dogga and Kozzie. Hard to believe he’s only played 30 games, plays like he belongs and even starting to show a bit of swagger which I love. Tough nut !

Sorry that this video relates to the prelim but its just so funny. Bloke starts off trying to present a balanced analysis of his clubs efforts and then keeps just slamming them, Not too dissimilar to some Dees fans of old.

Surprised I’ve not seen much on here re EASTONWOOD but kudos on a really good career in the end.
Plagued by hamstring injuries, but on his day in his prime he took on the best fwds in the comp and more than held his own (he usually was the biggest or best tall ina very age defence) and is one of two premiership captains at his club. Well done sir.

happy four week anniversary everyone.

Thanks QD! I can use that as my reason for rewatching tonight; I just know at some point my son will say, “you’re watching it AGAIN?!”
Rn I’m paused at just under nine minutes to go in the third. Fritta has just kicked our sixth. Another 15 goals to go! Ahhh, this never gets old.
Aaaand… unpause.

An observation. I didn't truly appreciate how fast Petracca and Oliver are. Time and time again they simply ran away from Dogs players. Bontempelli and Liberatore couldn't catch them.

Also this game proved even more than before both Trac and Clarry are a half second ahead of the opposition which enables them to get the break with both their incredible skills.

They are ONE grabbers don't fumble and run like the wind and are now playing with a real synergy as are many of our on ballers inc. Maxy and Dogga.

They grabbed the game with Jack V who did the Libba thing and got the ball out a number of times.

JV deserves great credit and has been overlooked a little because Trac and Clarry were so good.

Jacks last 7/8 games are as good a block of footy he has played for the team  and great credit to him. Little wonder that the margin ballooned out when so many contributed so well on the biggest stage.

Many played their best games ever or equal to.

Amazing second half effort from all the team eho clearly love and respect each other and play for ONE reason only A CUP and FLAG for the DEES.

Thsnks MFC for an unforgettable experience which I will never forget or undervalue.

Best footy I have seen the Dees play in the 62 years I have been going to games!!

Wow snd what a day to turn it on.

Lets see if we can win on the G in September in front of our fans in 2022.!!!

I’m the opposite. Since we’re premiers, no one can say anything bad about Melbourne. Not even about the last win we had. Once the season starts, we’re up for any kind of criticism again. I just want to being to of the world for the rest of this year.

Oh I think you will be pleasantly surprised. 2022 will be even better than 2021 IMHO for the Dees. I think the comp will take more than a year to catch us up, in spite of all the bluster we are hearing during the trade period from the likes of the Blues, Magpies, Dons and Cats. We will win more games in 2022 than 2021 and go back to back.

When a team hasn't experienced success in a long time there is always an element of self doubt about whether they are good enough or 'deserve' to be be in finals etc. Even in games when leading and the opposition expected Melbourne to fold on many occasions we obliged.

Now this team know what they can produce is the best in the comp I  am looking forward to this team going to another level.

Not only walking onto the ground in each game with a new confidence but unleashing their new competitive spirit to see how good each player can be. There is nothing holding them back at all. The sky is the limit.

And the fact we did this is such a team-oriented way with everyone playing their roles there will be a greater focus on doing more team things and urging fellow team mates to be the best they can be,

Exciting times for these lads and for us a lifelong followers.

I know. But any loss as insignificant as it is will be a downer compared to know. And a drought-break like this will never happen again (at least not in my lifetime.) I just want to enjoy this a while longer

didn't know where to put this,

I think I heard on the radio that the boxing day test will be capped at 75K.

If the club wants to do anything before Xmas with the fans at the G, I presume it will be capped at 75K, which will probably mean it will be ticketed, and then sell out in a heartbeat

Cant wait to take the pilgramage to the G to see the boys do a lap of honour, I think that's when it will finally sink in for me!!

Yep but just to mix it up a bit, I've been watching the prelim a couple more times because it was just such a sweeter team to smash. I'm not sure Geelong will get over what we did to them this year. Unless they recruit an entire new player group which they should probably do anyway, I think they will be traumatised for a very long time and I look forward to the the next time we meet them. I think Max should be able to wear some sort of superhero cape in our next game against them.

They tried to explain it away with tales of “gastro” but when we finished with the doggies I reckon they had to accept that we were just that bloody good that night.

There you go @Cassiew, there is the drought breaker you can be a part of. We’ll all be there for that I would think!

That contest shouldn't have even happened. 30 seconds earlier Kozzy was strangled 30 metres out from goal ... nothing to see ... play on!!

I'm not sure whether I have posted this before. Apologies if I have. I have a particular meeting once a month. Football is inevitably discussed. One of the attendees is a Bulldog. At the most recent meeting (a week after the GF), not a word about the Grand Final.

If the Bulldogs had won I would have said to Mr Bulldog "I was disappointed about the result, but congratulations on the win".

I expected nothing else from Mr Bulldog. He is not a quality person.

Ha ha ha major case of sour grapes.

Winners are grinners and losers can f… off.

Next time you have a meeting I would bring up the GF with another colleague in front of this [censored]. Live it up and enjoy.

Let’s hope minor elements of the grand final, such as

“who ran past for a handball receive for Melb at the 13 minute mark of the 3rd quarter, on the right half forward flank?”

come up in trivia nights we are at :- otherwise I am starting to judge/doubt myself re the amount of times I have watched the replay.

Am not done yet either. It’s still not boring.

Every time after we play Geel the next few years, win/loss or draw, we should leak out that the players had gastro a couple of days after :- to just take the [censored] out of them

Some how I get fb updates from GFC. They’ve picked up a 30 year old Hawk reject and shunted a 20 something kid to Freo.
Their fans are loving it. They see it as an honour they’ve made so many Prelims (never mind the losses)

GFCSS - long may it continue

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
