Now I'm nervous just having watched Melbourne Storm play just off the boil and go down by 4 points. Mighty game but they were just a tick off the whole way.

Smoke and mirrors I reckon.

Harmes or Viney will go straight to him IMO.

Totally agree. Worked a charm the first time and it's not a game we can afford him having any impact early on. 10 minutes of Libba untagged could mean a couple of goals. Not worth it.

Just organising some last minute reinforcements of Chardonnay now, all set for what we all hope will be a historic next few hours.

I've felt like I've been unusually calm the past few weeks...especially reading the extreme (by comparison) feelings of other people on socials.

It's hit me this afternoon though...starting with that video of the past player messages. It got to the point where my better half suggested I might need to go for a bit of a walk around the block (done).

Part of me is so jealous that I'm not there...we upgraded our memberships a few years back for the Grand Final guarantee. Anywho there are tons in the same boat, and also those with more investment in the club than me..past players, players partners and families etc.

We did pass our barcodes on to one of my wife's school friends, a Freo fan. She and her son are there and absolutely cheering for the Dees. She sent this photo a few minutes ago of Goody photobombing them! Thinking of turning the phone off now for my own mental health. Love youse all at Demonland, see you on the other side.

Go Dees.

No late changes…

Thé game starts at 11:15 am for me. I’ve never developed a taste for morning alcohol but I’ll start at half time.

Here’s the plan… If we’re well in front at half time I’ll have a rosé or three. If it’s very close, I’ll go for white. And if we’re in trouble, red. If we’re so far behind we can’t win it, I’ll opt for Spirytus Vodka.

Sitting down to watch the Grand Final with your team in it, what a feeling. Bring our A game and this is going to be some night.

In my year at school , ( a long time ago)we had 3 dee fans , im in melb , one is overseas and one is in stadium near the cheer squad , im living thru him vicariously

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
