Dont talk to kiwis about the 1996 world cup.... they still haven't got over it https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/all-blacks-deliberately-poisoned-at-1995-rugby-world-cup-says-nelson-mandelas-bodyguard/AZOWJNWGCVALROTY3COJHVXSNI/

Any doggies fans on the staff at the hotel??? Danny Southern in a disguise inoculating the porridge

That was missed in the mandela movie Invictus

Nice to see the ABC News channel sport reporter being across it… she just stated that Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin and one of his players, Adem Yze are isolating with a case of gastro 😁

If the players get sick we're stuffed.

Wouldn't put it beyond the shifty dogs' supporters.

Maybe Jones left the hub too early Afterall?

FFS Dees, can everyone stay away from the Salmon Mousse!

Reported Yze had his second jab yesterday, so he might be feeling the effects of that. In any event best they stay away. Our docs will be all over this.

They should have had a curfew.....

Anyone against the bye now?

Some serious cringe and over the top comments going on in here..

Yep. If Goodwin and Yze are isolating then none of our players should get sick, so I don't know why people are predicting disaster just before we finally get the chance to play in a grand final.

I'd expect the medical staff would be well armed with 'travel bomb' kits, consisting of antibiotics and symptom-targeted preparations. From experience, these effectively tackle 'gastro' inside 2 days.

We're over a week out from the game. Obviously not ideal for a player to get it, but if they did how badly would it really affect them come gameday?

Chook if you get Gastro and you aren't doing anything its bad enough, but IF players get it then preparing for a Grand Final in elite competition would be extremely concerning!😵

MFCSS-prompted idea:

I think there should be a rule that if your club hasn’t won a flag for 50 years or more and it gets into the GF, it automatically wins. Like if you’re leading the Tour de France going into the final stage. Everyone just shows up to the ground, walks around swilling champagne and playing kick to kick.

(But I really do want us to win it straight-up and I'm trying to enjoy the moment)

Jesus, they're fine, they woke up a bit crook, they're not taking an chances. Chaplin said they're expected back on deck tomorrow!

I would be putting in a call to Raymond Reddington.

‘Gastro’ is very broad description.

There’s the gastro where you think you’re going to die and there’s the gastro where you just need to be very careful when you fart… sound like it may be the latter.

Good thing there’s a bye!

The players need to be on the baked beans only diet "Shane Warne in India" style just to be safe, until after the GF!

Then fart the doggies into submission

I have never seen the footy media so determined to come up with some reason why Melbourne won't win, it's incredible. suggesting the Bulldogs might be more fresh than us, given we've had 1 game in 28 days and they've been to just about every state in that time.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
