Demonstone 23,548 Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 I've noticed a lot of posters quoting their feelings of MFCSS in the lead up to our Preliminary Final against Geelong. It's time we reclaimed this negative acronym, make it our own and wear it with pride. My proposal is that, henceforth, we assign the following meaning to the term: Melbourne Football Club September Specialists 10 3 1 Quote

Demonstone 23,548 Posted September 4, 2021 Author Posted September 4, 2021 No, stuff it. Enough of the negativity, the doom and gloom and pessimism, the whining and moaning, thinking that the AFL and the umpires have it in for us, that we never have any luck, the self pitying and all that feeble-minded talk of curses, upsetting the footy gods, tempting fate and all that superstitious nonsense. The time is now. 2021 is our year. Be positive, have belief, support our boys, think like a winner, embrace success and enjoy life as a Melbourne supporter. Go Demons. 2 2 Quote
TeamPlayedFine39 8,525 Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 I can’t change anything I’ve been doing all year or else it will jinx everything. If negativity and angst is the cosmic secret to our success, then I need to keep doing it. 4 3 Quote

Little Goffy 14,948 Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 For me, it is gone. Mysterious, inexplicable, and I don't know exactly when. I'm just not afraid any more. Not in the MFCSS way. For any given week or during any given game I'll be riding the details hard and feeling all the highs and lows, but I don't have that steady fog of anticipated miserableness. I worry about a bad game, I don't worry about a broken and humiliated club. 4 1 Quote

Chook 15,068 Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 MFCSS got me in the end. I won't lie. In the early parts of that 3rd quarter I thought we'd run our race. We were flat, and had nothing left. I was wrong. 3 Quote
