My favourite was beating Essendon at windy hill sometime in the early 90s. We were about 35 points down at the 12 or 13 minute mark of the last quarter then Darren Bennet and co went bang and we won by about 10 points.

1990. Should have won the Flag that year…..

Jeff Farmer's 9 in a half in 2000 was the very first footy memory that really stuck with me (aside from crying as the Sydney song played after we lost to them at the G).

The 2018 finals series was a huge buzz but the way we crashed out left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Last weekend was phenomenal.

But Beating Carlscum in 2000 was pretty good. The old Smokers Stand was Rocking Out in that last Quarter

The 2000 qualifying final was my favourite win. It was supposed to be all about Essendon and Carlton that year and we flipped the script. Will never forget the Bruce and Yze snap goals late in the game . The jubilation that day at the G by the Dees supporters was amazing.

This is going to sound silly but I got as much jubilation beating Geelong in Geelong in 2005 and 2015 as I did last week. Any win down there is to be savoured and the trip back to Melbourne is extremely satisfying.

A few years ago, I would have said the qualifying final against Adelaide in 1998. Our first final after all the merger crap, also after “winning” wooden spoon the year before. I didn’t really expect us to win, was just happy to be there at the game to see them in a final after them almost being extinct. Wonderful game. Beat them easily and were never threatened.

Now I’d say it was the 2018 final against Geelong. First time I’ve ever been to a game where we’d beaten them. Wonderful atmosphere. About 80% we’re demons supporters. A real emotional time to be there after 12 years without finals. Best game I’ve ever been to

During the 70s I was a junior member and used to go to most games at the MCG. I sat next to the player’s race in the old northern (Olympic) stand. One day I got selected to carry the blackboard with the winning numbers of the match day members raffle on it. This was a big deal to me at the time as it ment I got to walk on the ground at 3/4 time, I did it for the rest of the season. Considering how bad our on field performances were in that era this stood out. Gee how thing have changed with our current performance. Go Dees

1. Robbie Flower coming onto the ground in his first final v Swans 1987. This is still the loudest moment I have witnessed as a Dees supporter. "Robbiiiieeee!". It was my first time seeing the Dees in a final, and my ears are still ringing.

2. Mitch Hannan goal 2018 Elimination Final. I couldn't talk for 2 days.

3. 2000 Qualifying final versus Carlton.

4. Gawn's goal after the siren round 22 2021. Epic.

Completely different to a game experience, mine would be aged 7-8 years, whilst at my grandad's house, with the old man there too, sunny Saturday arvo Latrobe Valley being asked to go into the spare room to see on the bed laid out for me a long sleeve MFC guernsey along with a red leather TW Sherrin. It felt like a religious experience.

Consecutive finals wins over Hawthorn & Jeelong sweet but now overshadowed by last weeks victory.

Wheel oil be a flat-earther on this one

The 64 GF when I was twelve was a tight game and in the last quarter when we had no idea of time on and how long the game would go, Melbourne was in the lead having kicked a goal (as I recollect - admittedly subjective) and from the centre bounce we got the ball somehow towards our centre-half-forward when inexplicably a servant of evil kicked it back past the centre to where Ray Gabelich had remained as their ruckman (not necessarily that I can speak but he wasn’t the absolute fittest of all sportsmen) and to his shock the ball landed in his arms close to siren time. With not one player near him - neither Melbourne nor Satan’s - he began to lumber towards the Collingwood goal with a 40 yard start and the entire Melbourne team starting a desperate chase to run him down

and they nearly did it too

but Gabelich had made it to the goal square and collapsed after kicking the goal to put them in front with almost no time left and it was devastating

With no time left

the coach (you know - the one we sacked) put everyone from down back forward of the centre and after a desperate last bounce and scrimmage with the ball moving forward for Melbourne the back pocket player Neil Crompton did a kick across his body from half forward  to score one of the very few goals of his career

just just before the final siren

I do so hope that this year’s win will be similarly exciting 😱

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
