Jonsey the super sub is back baby!

That's how I saw it.  Following on from an outstanding win, why would we change the lineup?

Smith has been solid, but I thought they may have brought Pig back to sit on Cameron.

Jones will be Medi sub should we make the GF

That was the only change I thought they’d make too but also happy with no change….

Very surprised about Hibberd, who will play on Cameron?

Smith. And if Cameron starts to fire then they can move May onto him and switch with Smith.

Beg to differ LO.  Smith frees up Lever to do what he does best.  Fingers crossed that with Lever intercepting, the ball doesn't get down to Cameron to do too much damage.

You have to feel for Hibberd and Jordon, both of whom have been mainstays of our best 22 this year but now find themselves on the outer.

Well done to Smith and Sparrow for standing up at the right time to get their spots.

Would love for Jones to be the sub but you'd expect Jordon is the more likely option.

Feel for JJ. Has been good all year. Deserves to play ahead of Sparrow IMHO.

Smith definately has the athletic capacity to go with Cameron. But not the defensive nous of Hibberd . I'll back in the coaches they have been good at selection this year after 2 horror years where I think we lost some games on Thursday night.

I think it is a toss up between Nathan Jones (the sentimental favourite) or Michael Hibberd as the medical substitutes for the Demons against the Lions.

Mark my words....this will be a tough and hard game! The Lions should not be underestimated. In another news article the Lions said they have become "hardened" after recent finals losses. This game will be no easy task for the Demons!

If Mitch Robinson goes berserk against us and starts belting our players then we need to get Nathan Jones onto the ground as the medical substitute to deal with him. Two tough old bulls going head-to-head! Nathan Jones will also be fired up to prove a point with this being only his 3rd chance to play finals.

Another concern is Charlie Cameron who is a brilliant forward pocket player who reminds me a lot of our very own Jeff "The Wizard" Farmer. We need to keep a close tag on him. This is where I think Michael Hibberd may be a good option as the medical substitute too.

Anyway, I am sure the MFC coaching staff are currently having these debates about who should be the medical substitute against the Lions.

Did not lose a game Jones played this year.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
